Born in New York, Orkin moved to Japan in the \u201980s, and has been dedicated to perfecting bowls of soupy noodles ever since.<\/p>\n<p>The noodle-aficionado is most famous for his 2017 appearance on Netflix\u2019s Chef\u2019s Table. The show took viewers behind the scenes in kitchens run by acclaimed international chefs, including Orkin\u2019s buzzy New York joint Ivan Ramen. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/london\/news\/all-the-best-new-london-restaurant-openings-in-february-013123\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">He ran a pop-up in London back in 2023<\/a>, and now he\u2019s preparing to jump across the pond once again, this time for good.<\/p>\n<p>Orkin announced the launch of his first ever permanent London ramen restaurant,\u00a0arriving at\u00a098 Farringdon Road\u00a0in November. The \u2018intimate\u2019 spot will seat 26 people, and offer classic dishes like spicy miso ramen and chicken paitan, alongside a brand-new recipe inspired by London; \u2018the Salt Beef Bao\u2019. This bowl is based on \u2018the flavours of a classic East End bagel\u2019 and will come with \u2018warm salt beef, pickled cucumbers, and fiery karashi mustard mayo\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The London branch of Ivan Ramen\u2019s\u00a0first day in business will be <strong>Tuesday November 18<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>After decades of success in both Tokyo and New York, Orkin said that opening up a restaurant in a brand new city remains an \u2018incredible honour\u2019, adding that \u2018London isn\u2019t just a world-class restaurant destination.
