Dozens of residents in Yorkshire are set to benefit from upgraded heating.<\/p>\n
Connect Housing Association has secured \u00a384,000 from the Heat Network Efficiency Scheme (HNES) to improve two communal heating systems in Leeds: Hawthorn Mill and Nowell Court.<\/p>\n
The funding will support better insulation, improved controls, and upgrades to reduce heat loss and service disruptions.<\/p>\n
Louise Singleton, HNES programme manager, said: “We’re delighted to mark yet another milestone with the publication of our round 9 funding recipients.<\/p>\n
“Once again, thousands more residents will benefit from a more reliable central heating system thanks to HNES support, while homes and buildings across England and Wales become more energy efficient and carbon friendly.”<\/p>\n
Specific improvements will include building management system (BMS) upgrades, new thermostatic radiator valves (TRVs), and improved heat meters for each property.<\/p>\n
The two Leeds schemes are among 17 projects to receive a share of over \u00a37.3 million in capital support through Round 9 of the HNES programme.<\/p>\n
HNES targets older, less reliable heat networks across England and Wales, aiming to deliver warmer, more reliable, and environmentally friendly heating to residents.<\/p>\n
Wider improvements funded through the scheme are expected to save more than 57,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually once completed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Dozens of residents in Yorkshire are set to benefit from upgraded heating.
