{"id":524973,"date":"2025-10-24T14:59:12","date_gmt":"2025-10-24T14:59:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/524973\/"},"modified":"2025-10-24T14:59:12","modified_gmt":"2025-10-24T14:59:12","slug":"f1-legends-launch-new-podcast-as-the-race-and-the-athletic-extend-distribution-partnership","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/524973\/","title":{"rendered":"F1 legends launch new podcast as The Race and The Athletic extend distribution partnership"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Former Formula 1 World Champion Damon Hill and Grand Prix race-winner Johnny Herbert will <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/wearetherace\/status\/1981330759899111539\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">host a new podcast in conjunction with The Race<\/a>, the world\u2019s largest independent motorsport media company.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cStay on Track with Damon Hill &amp; Johnny Herbert\u201d will launch at the end of October, just as the 2025 Formula 1 World Championship heads into the final title-deciding phase.<\/p>\n<p>The podcast will be distributed in both audio and video format, and is the latest product from the partnership between The Race and The Athletic, the world\u2019s leader in sports journalism. The release of the new high-profile show marks the renewal of a fresh multi-year agreement between The Race and The Athletic.<\/p>\n<p>The duo have collaborated since 2022 to publish an extensive portfolio of F1, MotoGP and other motorsport shows for a hyper-engaged fanbase, headlined by The Race F1 Podcast. Across The Race\u2019s podcast portfolio, the network reaches a monthly audio and video audience well into seven figures.<\/p>\n<p>Hill and Herbert will record a podcast monthly, and provide irreverent analysis of the latest Grands Prix and news, as well as sharing anecdotes from their past exploits as F1 drivers and commentators.<\/p>\n<p>Damon Hill, who won his World Championship in 1996 with Williams, will also front a separate podcast alongside pre-eminent F1 writer Mark Hughes. \u201cThe Undercut with Damon Hill &amp; Mark Hughes\u201d will be also released in a monthly sequence, starting in mid-November, and provide in-depth analysis of F1 past and present.<\/p>\n<p>Damon Hill said: \u201cI\u2019m very excited that I will be working with The Race Media on not one but two new and very different F1 Podcasts. It will be great to be re-united with my partner in chaos, the inimitable Johnny Herbert, to give that \u2018been there, done that\u2019 take on life in F1. Whilst with Mark I have one of the most insightful and experienced F1 journalists onboard to get to the heart of the key themes of our beloved (and sometimes, not so beloved!) sport. I can\u2019t wait to crack on!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Johnny Herbert, who won three Grands Prix and the Le Mans 24 Hours during his driving career, added: \u201cDamon and I came through the ranks together as drivers, and I\u2019ve always enjoyed his company \u2013 he\u2019s a fascinating character. We are chalk and cheese in many ways, but we bring out the best in one another and, as pundits, we share a similar mentality: to tell the truth and call things as we see them. I think we\u2019re going to have a lot of fun!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The audio versions of both \u201cStay on Track\u201d and \u201cThe Undercut\u201d will be available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and all other podcast apps, while the video versions will be available on YouTube on The Race and The Race Podcasts channels.<\/p>\n<p>These two high-profile podcasts join a portfolio of eight other motorsport podcasts that have been created within the partnership between The Athletic and The Race, the world\u2019s largest independent motorsport media company.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Race and The Athletic share a common philosophy: to produce sports content that is class-leading in both entertainment and expertise.
