{"id":525252,"date":"2025-10-24T17:33:12","date_gmt":"2025-10-24T17:33:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/525252\/"},"modified":"2025-10-24T17:33:12","modified_gmt":"2025-10-24T17:33:12","slug":"ukraine-us-share-common-vision-of-ceasefire-along-current-line-of-contact-says-presidential-aide","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/525252\/","title":{"rendered":"Ukraine, US share common vision of ceasefire along current line of contact, says presidential aide"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>ISTANBUL <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Head of the Ukrainian Presidential Office Andriy Yermak said Kyiv and Washington now share a \u201ccompletely coinciding\u201d vision for achieving a ceasefire along the current line of contact, following President Volodymyr Zelenskyy\u2019s meeting with US President Donald Trump in Washington.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to RBC-Ukraine, published on Friday, Yermak denied reports that the meeting went poorly, saying it laid \u201cthe foundation for further work\u201d despite the lack of an immediate decision on supplying American Tomahawk missiles.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe main thing is that the conversation ended with confirmation of our shared strategic position\u2014any negotiations and, as a result, a ceasefire are possible only with reference to the current line of contact,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Yermak added that both leaders agreed the war cannot continue \u201cunder the cover of negotiations,\u201d stressing that Russia must not be allowed to exploit talks to delay new sanctions or aid to Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that the US confirmed continued air defense support, particularly regarding Patriot systems, and described Trump\u2019s approach as \u201cconstructive and open.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn some things our views coincided, in others they did not, but I would not make a tragedy out of that,\u201d Yermak said.<\/p>\n<p>According to Yermak, Trump\u2019s recent decision to cancel a planned meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Budapest reflects the US president\u2019s readiness \u201cto meet only when such talks can bring concrete results.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added that Kyiv expects more high-level US visits soon, noting that Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Vice President JD Vance, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth have been invited to Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing concerns about the upcoming winter, Yermak said Ukraine has secured US and European commitments to help protect its energy sector amid renewed Russian strikes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRussia has been trying to freeze us for four years, but we are stronger and better prepared this time,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He also confirmed plans to intensify retaliatory strikes, without elaborating on operational details, and reiterated that \u201ctime is working against Russia.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>                            &#13;<br \/>\n                                <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aa.com.tr\/en\/p\/subscription\/1001\" target=\"_blank\" style=\"font-size:12px;
