The Victoria North regeneration programme set to see up to 15,000 new homes built over the next 15 years.<\/p>\n

A multi-billion-pound north Manchester regeneration scheme is bringing thousands of new homes and jobs \u2013 and some are already benefiting.<\/p>\n

The North Manchester Social Benefits Framework, which was set up to accompany the massive regeneration projects at Victoria North<\/a> and North Manchester General Hospital, has been refreshed.<\/p>\n

The framework is a strategic plan that goes beyond just houses and jobs, its leaders have said \u2013 with the heart of the vision for it to help create a stronger, healthier north Manchester.<\/p>\n

The \u00a36bn boost \u2013 fronted by Manchester council and FEC UK, Manchester University NHS<\/a> Foundation Trust and Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust \u2013 includes healthcare and social value.<\/p>\n

In addition to 4,911 jobs and the hundreds of houses already built, \u00a330m social value has also been generated by the framework, bosses say. Social value is the positive impact a project has on society, going beyond purely financial returns.<\/p>\n

One person who has already benefited from this is Collyhurst resident Thomas Davies.<\/p>\n

The Collyhurst Skills Centre graduate said: \u201cI was on benefits where I was getting \u00a3630 a month as a single parent.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy wage for today has just come through and it\u2019s \u00a31,130 for just one week, which is a giant difference, it\u2019s massive.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s made a massive difference to my life and my child\u2019s life and everything and I can\u2019t thank the skills people enough for supporting me through this. It\u2019s been absolutely brilliant.\u201d<\/p>\n

There are bound to be more like Thomas coming in the future, with the Victoria North regeneration programme set to see up<\/a> to 15,000 new homes built over the next 15 years. The new neighbourhoods would be scattered across 155 hectares between Victoria Train Station and Queen\u2019s Park in Collyhurst.<\/p>\n

In order to push forward, the newly created 2025 Framework has five themes: Education, Skills, and Employment; Health and Wellbeing; Community Resilience; Digital; Environmental.<\/p>\n

And bosses have revealed that ‘to maximise delivery against the Framework outcomes’, several core supporting initiatives have been designed:<\/p>\n
