One of the original Avengers<\/a><\/strong> stars has addressed his potential return in Marvel Studios<\/a>\u2018 upcoming Doomsday<\/a> and Secret Wars<\/a> movies. The next installment of the blockbuster franchise will be in theaters on December 18, 2026, followed by the theatrical release of Avengers: Secret Wars on December 17, 2027.<\/p>\n

Who is not returning for the next Avengers movies?<\/p>\n

During a recent interview at The Breakfast Club Morning Show, after opening up about his recovery from his 2023 snowplow accident, Hawkeye star Jeremy Renner<\/a><\/strong> was asked about his potential involvement in Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars. Renner confirmed that he won\u2019t be reprising Clint Barton\/Hawkeye in the next Avengers movies, revealing that he\u2019s actually \u201cpretty busy\u201d with other projects at the moment.<\/p>\n

When host Charlamagne tha God joked about whether he was afraid that Marvel Studios could just introduce a new Hawkeye from another dimension because the franchise is now in its Multiverse phase, Renner laughed at his suggestion, revealing that the studio can go ahead with that plan if that\u2019s what they want. <\/p>\n

\u201cYeah. There you go,\u201d Renner responded. \u201cIf they want to do that, they can go ahead. By all means, you can do that. I\u2019m pretty busy myself.\u201d<\/p>\n

Avengers: Doomsday is being directed by Avengers: Endgame filmmakers Joe and Anthony Russo from a screenplay written by Stephen McFeely. The latest installment will feature the return of Marvel vets Robert Downey Jr.<\/a> and Chris Hemsworth<\/a>, with the Oppenheimer actor set to play a completely different role this time in the form of Victor von Doom\/Doctor Doom. The ensemble cast will also include Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Paul Rudd, Sebastian Stan, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Mackie, Florence Pugh, Tenoch Huerta Mejia, Lewis Pullman, Simu Liu, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Hannah John-Kamen, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, and Danny Ramirez.<\/p>\n

The fifth installment will also feature the return of X-Men stars Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, James Marsden as Cyclops, and Channing Tatum as Gambit. Following the movie\u2019s viral casting announcement video, Feige confirmed they haven\u2019t revealed the entire cast yet, teasing more casting announcements in the future. Recent casting rumors suggested that Doctor Str<\/a>ange<\/a>, Deadpool<\/a>, Peggy Carter, Steve Rogers<\/a>, and Spider-Man<\/a> might also appear in Doomsday.<\/p>\n
