Manchester Airport<\/a> has announced new rules for Ryanair passengers which came into effect this week. It comes as the airport undergoes major changes as part of its \u00a31.3billion transformation programme.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not long until the airport\u2019s new-look Terminal 2 opens to the public, eventually serving 70 per cent of the airport\u2019s passengers. As part of the plans, Terminal 1 will close.<\/p>\n

Some of the space freed up by the closure of Termainal 1 will go towards a multi-million pound project to revamp and expand Manchester Airport’s Terminal 3, which is already underway.<\/a><\/p>\n

There will be 40 per cent more seating, more space and facilities, brand new security equipment, and new shops and places to eat and drink.<\/p>\n

The plans also include a huge sports bar with 469 seats named Sporting Chance. It will have impressive airfield views and show a range of sporting events and is set to be one of the easiest features opening to the public.<\/p>\n

As the work continues on the changes, Ryanair passengers are being asked to follow alternative directions. As of October 21, Ryanair passengers are no longer using the Terminal 3 entrance.<\/p>\n

Instead passengers should head to Terminal 1 Departures A, where they will check in and pass through the new security lanes.<\/p>\n

From here passengers will follow a clearly signed route into Terminal 3\u2019s departure lounge, where all existing shops and food outlets remain open.<\/p>\n

This arrangement will stay in place until Terminal 1 closes, at which point the entrance will be renamed and permanently become the entrance to Terminal 3. Clear signage will be in place, and our airport colleagues will be on hand to assist passengers.<\/p>\n

Nothing has changed for arriving passengers and all Ryanair passengers returning to Manchester will continue to arrive at Terminal 3.<\/p>\n
