The arrest of a man who was suspected of breaking into a McDonald’s staff room led police to a huge stash of Cadbury’s chocolate. At around 7am on October 23, police received a report of someone gaining entry to the staff room at McDonald’s in Blundell Street, Brunswick and stealing AirPods.<\/a><\/p>\n

A man matching the description was detained nearby by officers. Suspected stolen AirPods and a large quantity of suspected stolen chocolate were found. A 45-year-old man of no fixed abode was arrested on suspicion of burglary<\/a> and handling stolen goods and has been taken to a police station for questioning.<\/p>\n

Constable Wilton from Merseyside Police’s Liverpool city centre<\/a> neighbourhood policing team said: “This was vigilant and swift police work which has brought a suspect into custody.<\/p>\n

“Our enquiries are ongoing and we are keen to identify businesses that have recently had a large quantity of chocolate stolen.<\/p>\n

“Crime targeting those who own, run and work in our businesses will never be tolerated and can have a significant impact on both individuals and organisations.<\/p>\n

“We work closely with businesses, Liverpool City Council’s comprehensive Citywatch CCTV network and other partners to reduce such incidents and put those responsible before the courts.”<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019d also like to take this opportunity to encourage businesses to consider taking a few simple steps that prevent opportunists from spotting an easy target.\u201d<\/p>\n
