{"id":527649,"date":"2025-10-25T20:06:45","date_gmt":"2025-10-25T20:06:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/527649\/"},"modified":"2025-10-25T20:06:45","modified_gmt":"2025-10-25T20:06:45","slug":"leeds-fans-stunned-into-silence-by-west-ham-chant-that-sums-up-catastrophe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/527649\/","title":{"rendered":"Leeds fans stunned into silence by West Ham chant that sums up catastrophe"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Leeds United supporters were left in stunned silence after hearing a brutal West Ham chant that summed up the current catastrophe unfolding in east London.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Given what Leeds fans have been through in the last 20 years they could probably empathise if not quite sympathise as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hammers.news\/club\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">West Ham<\/a> supporters turned their frustration into gallows humour amid another grim chapter in their worst ever start to a top flight season.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of going through hard times, Leeds United have been there, done it and got the t-shirt in the last couple of decades.<\/p>\n<p>The Elland Road club even dropped down to the third division at their lowest ebb.<\/p>\n<p>Leeds fans stunned into silence by West Ham chant<\/p>\n<p>Now they\u2019re back in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hammers.news\/premier-league\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Premier League<\/a> and making a good fist of staying there this time having beaten West Ham 2-1 on Friday night to put a seven-point gap between the sides at the quarter-way stage of the season.<\/p>\n<p>For West Ham, things go from bad to worse.<\/p>\n<p>Stuck in the bottom three with one win in 10 games this season, the Hammers are starting to look like relegation certainties never mind candidates.<\/p>\n<p>The game at Leeds offered West Ham a real opportunity to turn their season around.
