\n\tAs fans campaign for a Star Wars<\/a> project that never materialized, Steven Soderbergh<\/a> is finally able to discuss his script.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Oscar winner said it \u201cwas a first\u201d for Disney<\/a> to reject his completed script for The Hunt for Ben Solo, after Adam Driver<\/a> revealed it was \u201cone of the coolest (expletive) scripts<\/a> I had ever been a part of.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cFor the record, I did not enjoy lying about the existence of THE HUNT FOR BEN SOLO, but it really did need to remain a secret\u2026until now!\u201d wrote Soderbergh this week on Bluesky<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAlso, in the aftermath of the HFBS situation, I asked Kathy Kennedy if LFL had ever turned in a finished movie script for greenlight to Disney and had it rejected,\u201d he later posted<\/a>. \u201cShe said no, this was a first.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPreviously, Soderbergh said in a statement<\/a> to the Associated Press, \u201cI really enjoyed making the movie in my head. I\u2019m just sorry the fans won\u2019t get to see it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe son of Han Solo and Leia Organa, as well as the grandson of Anakin Skywalker, Ben (Driver) appeared in the Star Wars sequel trilogy as the villainous Kylo Ren. Although the character has a redemption arc before his death in The Rise of Skywalker (2019), Driver felt Ben had unfinished business.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe presented the script to Lucasfilm. They loved the idea,\u201d he told the AP. \u201cThey totally understood our angle and why we were doing it. We took it to Bob Iger and Alan Bergman and they said no. They didn\u2019t see how Ben Solo was alive. And that was that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe actor added, \u201cBut it is no more, so I can finally talk about it.\u201d<\/p>\n
