Premier League champions Liverpool are enduring a tough spell under Arne Slot, with the Merseyside outfit slipping to another defeat on Saturday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Reds were second best in large parts of their 3-2 defeat to Brentford, leaving last year\u2019s top team well off the pace domestically.<\/p>\n

Liverpool signed Alexander Isak<\/a> and a host of other big names over the summer, but it is clear the new men have not gelled or found their rhythm yet.<\/p>\n

In a poor performance against Brentford, only one Reds player can hold his head up after the game.<\/p>\n

Dominik Szoboszlai<\/a> was selected in a midfield triumvirate along with Curtis Jones and a struggling Florian Wirtz against Brentford, and put in an impressive performance.<\/p>\n

The Hungary international\u2019s versatility is an asset for Slot\u2019s men, with Liverpool fielding him at right-back on occasion this season also.<\/p>\n

However, with Ryan Gravenberch missing due to injury and Alexis MacAllister on the bench, Szoboszlai was the driving force in the Reds midfield.<\/p>\n

His industry and work-rate led to Mohamed Salah\u2019s late consolation goal while the Hungarian\u2019s quality on the ball was clear for all to see.<\/p>\n

With Liverpool needing leaders to rally around, Szoboszlai will be an important figure in upcoming games against Crystal Palace, Aston Villa and Real Madrid.<\/p>\n

Time for right-back experiment to end<\/p>\n

While Szoboszlai is more than good enough to play at full-back, Liverpool are a better team with him in the heart of the side\u2019s midfield.<\/p>\n

Despite an injury to Jeremy Frimpong, rising star Conor Bradley<\/a> is desperate for a run in the team and should be afforded this opportunity in the next few weeks.<\/p>\n

This would allow Liverpool to field their best midfield \u2013 Szoboszlai, Gravenberch and MacAllister \u2013 as the Reds look to dominate possession and create chances in upcoming games.<\/p>\n
