The 2025 ATP season is finally reaching its climax, with one Masters 1000 tournament left for the year, the Paris Masters. There\u2019s a brand new venue this year, with the event moving from the Accor Arena in Bercy to the La Defense Arena in Nanterre, eight miles away.<\/p>\n
But the tournament has already suffered a blow, with several big names and former champions forced to withdraw<\/a>. From Novak Djokovic<\/a> to Holger Rune<\/a> to Jack Draper<\/a>, Express Sport takes a look at the players who have withdrawn from the last Masters event of the season.<\/p>\n Tommy Paul<\/strong><\/p>\n The American has been battling injury problems since the French Open, where he made it to the quarter-finals before his body finally gave in, and he suffered a one-sided defeat<\/a> to Carlos Alcaraz<\/a>.<\/p>\n Paul then ruptured a tendon in his foot during his second-round loss at Wimbledon<\/a> and spent a month on the sidelines, using the time to propose to his girlfriend, Paige Lorenze<\/a>. The world No. 20 returned in Cincinnati but lost in round three, and he\u2019s not played since going out in the third round of the US Open.<\/p>\n Frances Tiafoe<\/strong><\/p>\n Tiafoe recently split with two key members of his team – Jordi Anaconda, who had been with him for five years, and coach David Witt – and ended his season early. It\u2019s been a disappointing season for the world No. 29, who finishes the year with a 26-23 record.<\/p>\n \u201c2025 season has come to an end early this year for the kid. It wasn\u2019t the season I hoped for but lots of lessons learned on and off court. I want to give a huge S\/O to my team. I\u2019ve been with these guys for several years. We\u2019ve shared some incredible moments that I\u2019ll remember forever. That being said I\u2019ve decided it\u2019s time for a change,\u201d Tiafoe wrote on Instagram<\/a> last week.<\/p>\n Arthur Fils<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n Fils had a strong start to the season, but he picked up a back injury during the French Open<\/a> and has played just two singles matches since, making a short-lived comeback at the Canadian Open<\/a> in late July. The 21-year-old has since withdrawn from every tournament he\u2019s entered, including the Paris Masters, which marks the end of his injury-affected season.<\/a><\/p>\n When Fils pulled out of the French Open in May, he explained: \u201cIt’s an injury that happens quite often when you are a child. It’s a stress fracture injury. It happened to me twice. I had to wear a back brace. Then it healed. But also, my lower back is arched, so then I had a bone marrow edema. It’s coming back right now.\u201d<\/p>\n Stefanos Tsitsipas<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n Tsitsipas has had a stop-start season due to a back injury. The world No. 25 has not played a tour-level match since losing to Joao Fonseca<\/a> during a Greece vs Brazil Davis Cup tie more than a month ago. He was forced to pull out of the China Open and the Shanghai Masters<\/a> but returned at the Six Kings Slam, an exhibition event in Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n The former world No. 3 played and lost one match<\/a> to Jannik Sinner<\/a>, banking \u00a31.1m for his efforts.
