The Italian Club Fish on <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/bold-street\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Bold Street<\/a> closed its doors with &#8220;immediate effect&#8221; on January 13 with a public statement on <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/liverpoolecho\/?hl=en\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Instagram<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">The seafood <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/liverpool-restaurants\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">restaurant<\/a> had been a fixture at the top of Bold Street for over a decade. The <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/whats-on\/food-drink-news\/lost-bold-street-institution-back-31124604\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">name lives on<\/a> with the restaurant&#8217;s head chef, Marco Muscedere, and manager Tom Basham launching a stall at the Duke Street <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/food-and-drink\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Food and Drink Market<\/a> in March.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">Since then, the Bold Street site has remained empty. However, it was announced last night that another food venue would be moving in.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">Spice Thai describes itself as \u201cLiverpool first Thai street food venue\u201d and already has locations on <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/whats-on\/food-drink-news\/spice-thai-opening-new-venue-27735465\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Castle Street<\/a> and in the Baltic Market.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">Its third venue will be in the old Italian Club Fish building. In an Instagram post, the business shared a picture of the Spice Thai signage on the site and said: \u201cGet ready Liverpool!<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">\u201cBold Street is about to get spicier.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">\u201cWe\u2019re so, so excited to announce that we are in the process of renovating the space and we are looking to open soon on Bold Street.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">\u201cWe absolutely can\u2019t wait to welcome you all to our new venue soon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">\u201cLots of love, Spice Thai team.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">The news was welcomed by many in the comments section. Michelle Dean said: \u201cI will definitely pop in.\u201d Kirstey Achterberg said: \u201cI\u2019m so excited.\u201d The Bagelry, which is located on nearby Nelson Street, added: \u201cThis is great news.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Content cannot be displayed without consent<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">Its neighbours will be another Asian food venue. Mee Japanese &amp; Thai Street Food opened on the corner of Bold Street and Berry Street <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/whats-on\/food-drink-news\/went-new-restaurant-tea-ended-31205927\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">earlier this year.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">The announcement about the closure of The Italian Club Fish was met with <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/news\/liverpool-news\/liverpool-lost-great-today-bold-30775019\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">much sadness <\/a>by customers earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/0_italian-club-fish.jpg\" alt=\"The Italian Club Fish on Bold Street closed earlier this year\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>The Italian Club Fish on Bold Street closed earlier this year(Image: Wesley Holmes)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">In the comments section of the Instagram post, Porkyaskew wrote: &#8220;So so gutted to hear this news you deserve much better and you have been a pillar of Liverpool&#8217;s food culture for so long. Sending lots of Love and Thanks for all your Passion and hard work.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"liverpoolecho\">Bwhittydoll said: &#8220;Omg my favourite restaurant ever, dined there for many years celebrating lots of special occasions, you will be missed. Had some truly amazing meals in your place and it&#8217;s so sad you will be no more.
