Emmerdale spoilers have teased the ongoing County Lines drug storyline will escalate, as next week sees two desperate characters taking action ahead of more characters getting involved<\/p>\n

There’s dark and worrying scenes ahead on Emmerdale<\/a>, with some “unexpected turns” already revealed and no doubt more to air.<\/p>\n

The County Lines storyline<\/a> featuring dealer Ray Walters, his secret ‘mum’ Celia Daniels and teens April Windsor and Dylan Penders is a difficult watch. That’s only going to continue as the plot unravels, with actor Joe Absolom, who plays Ray, warning that soon more characters would be involved in the plot in some way or another.<\/p>\n

The sinister storyline has already seen horrifying moments, including April facing dangerous situations as she continues working for Ray to pay off her and Dylan’s debts. In one harrowing episode we saw April trapped in a hotel room as a client believed she was there to sleep with him – clearly a disgusting agreement by Ray.<\/p>\n

April was warned she had “no choice” and spoilers for next week reveal Ray approaches the teen once more, giving her a similar job. Manipulating her into believing it’s a quicker way to pay what she owes, both Ray and Celia’s vile schemes have been confirmed to be so much worse than fans first thought.<\/p>\n

But it seems there could be turning points ahead, with some “unexpected” moments teased. “Ray has done some awful things and it’s absolutely right that he should be held accountable,” our soap source shares.<\/p>\n

“But as the storyline continues we learn more about the character and how he found himself trapped in his evil ‘mother’ Celia’s criminal world<\/a>. Ray was taken in at the age of eight, and so Celia’s path and her cruel actions is all he knows.”<\/p>\n

It seems Joe who plays the character believes there could be some redemption for the character though, and even a possible love interest. Ray gets closer to Laurel Thomas in upcoming scenes, while there’s also the sense Ray could seek the life “he never had”.<\/p>\n

But with April and Dylan trapped and pushed to the edge and more characters in the village soon set to become involved, where does this leave the storyline? Our soap insider teased: “It’s not calming down any time soon, with the likes of Rhona, Marlon and even Cain Dingle thought to be somewhat involved in upcoming scenes.<\/p>\n

“If the full truth was to come out, we wouldn’t want to be Ray, or even Celia, when it comes to the wrath of the Dingle clan. There’s every chance the truth might not come out, depending on if April and Dylan will remain silent out of fear as they have done so far.<\/p>\n

“But knowing Ray himself has had a troubled life and he despises his mother, feeling trapped himself, could this see him be the one to bring her down?” They added: “There’s so many questions and so many ways this plot can go, and it seems it’s only really just getting started.”<\/p>\n

Spoilers for next week reveal April and Dylan plot to flee the village with Ray’s money, desperate to escape him and Celia. But will they mange to get away, and what will Ray do?<\/p>\n

“We can’t reveal what happens, but fans will no doubt be fearing what Ray and Celia are capable of. They have a lot pinned on the teens, and it’s clear they will stop at nothing to ensure they keep working for them.<\/p>\n

“So to find out their ‘best workers’ have fled or have attempted to, we can’t imagine that going down well. That’s if they find out of course!”<\/p>\n
