Fire crews have rushed to the scene of a blaze at a high rise in Birmingham<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Four crews from West Midlands Fire Service were called to Salop Street, in Highgate, this afternoon, Sunday, October 26.<\/p>\n

The service said the fire involved a tall building.<\/p>\n

An “avoid the area” plea was also given by the fire service.<\/p>\n

The fire service were unable to confirm any possible injuries or if any rescues had been launched.<\/p>\n

It shared some details of the incident at 2.50pm. <\/p>\n

The fire service posted on X: “We have 4 crews in attendance at Salop Street, Highgate, where they have responded to a tall building fire.<\/p>\n

“Please avoid the area, where possible.”<\/p>\n

In an update, it added: “This was a fire in a ground floor bin room.<\/p>\n

“Our first crew arrived three minutes after they were mobilised – but the fire was already out, thanks to the building’s sprinkler system.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Fire crews have rushed to the scene of a blaze at a high rise in Birmingham.
