Never before seen footage of Oasis performing in Glasgow<\/a> on the night they were discovered has sold for more than \u00a328,000 at auction.<\/p>\n

Liam and Noel Gallagher<\/a> played one of their first ever gigs at the city\u2019s King Tut\u2019s Wah Wah Hut on May 31, 1993.<\/p>\n

They were offered a record deal on the spot by Scots Creation Records boss Alan McGee who was in the audience.<\/p>\n

The performance was captured on a camcorder by Japanese student Ayako Misawa who was living in Glasgow at the time.<\/p>\n

A snippet from her recording featured in the 2016 Oasis documentary Supersonic but the entire nine-minute video has never been publicly shared in full.<\/p>\n

The footage, and its associated copyright, went up for sale at Propstore\u2019s Music Memorabilia Live Auction and was given an estimate of \u00a34,000 to \u00a38,000.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But it sparked a competitive bidding war and fetched a final price of \u00a328,350.<\/p>\n

The lot includes the original Sony Handycam Video8 camcorder, cassette tape, battery pack, charger and Ms Misawa\u2019s original concert ticket.<\/p>\n

The lot\u2019s description stated: \u2018This rare videotape recording captured the Oasis gig that would change the band\u2019s lives and spark the \u201890s Britpop phenomenon.\u2019<\/p>\n

The Oasis tour began on July 4 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff,\u00a0Wales, to a sold out audience.<\/p>\n

It is scheduled to end on November 23 in Sao Paolo, Brazil.<\/p>\n

The tour marks Oasis’s first live appearances since they split acrimoniously in 2009.<\/p>\n
