{"id":530850,"date":"2025-10-27T09:51:23","date_gmt":"2025-10-27T09:51:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/530850\/"},"modified":"2025-10-27T09:51:23","modified_gmt":"2025-10-27T09:51:23","slug":"france-bring-in-uncapped-rookie-for-springboks-rematch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/530850\/","title":{"rendered":"France bring in uncapped rookie for Springboks rematch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Injuries sustained in the Top 14 have forced France boss Fabien Galthie to make two changes to his squad for the three-match November campaign that starts against the Springboks on November 8.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetrugby.com\/news\/le-bomb-squad-fires-france-to-six-nations-title-as-scotland-threat-disarmed-in-paris\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Galthie\u2019s 2025 Six Nations champions<\/a> are due to take on Rassie Erasmus\u2019 back-to-back Rugby World Cup winners in Paris, followed by other matches against Fiji and Australia.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"noopener nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ffr.fr\/actualites\/xv-de-france\/xv-de-france-le-groupe-pour-la-tournee-dautomne-2\" target=\"_blank\">It was October 24 when Galthie originally named his France squad of 42<\/a>, but he has now had to amend it following the club injuries picked up by Bordeaux\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetrugby.com\/tag\/matthieu-jalibert\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Matthieu Jalibert<\/a> and Racing\u2019s Romain Taofifenua.<\/p>\n<p>A first choice pick at Rugby World Cup 2023, Jalibert started just once in the Six Nations earlier this year, featuring at No.10 in the round two loss to England, but his recent excellent club form was set to see the Champions Cup winner join up with France with an added pep in his step.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t have much hope\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, that ambition was scuppered on Saturday night when he limped to the touchline near the finish of Bordeaux\u2019s 41-12 win over Bayonne.
