Titans of Time dives into Earth\u2019s ancient oceans with monster frogs, evolutionary beasts and a big message about saving marine life todayMonsters of the deep<\/p>\n

A monstrous free talk at the city’s aquarium promises to make waves with ancient ocean-dwellers, dartboard-sized frogs and a splash of conservation concern.<\/p>\n

Bristol Aquarium is turning back the tides of time this April as it launches its Titans of Time theme \u2013 an exploration of the world\u2019s most formidable prehistoric sea creatures. As part of the programme, visitors will be able to attend a one-off talk on Saturday, April 26 at 2pm, diving into the lives and legacies of extinct marine beasts.<\/p>\n

Open to anyone aged eight and above, the free event will chart an evolutionary journey from the dawn of life in the oceans to the aquatic ecosystems of today. The presentation will examine how these ancient animals adapted to their environments and why, in many cases, they eventually vanished from the Earth\u2019s waters.<\/p>\n

Attendees will learn about deep sea creatures and evolutionary titans that once ruled the waves \u2013 including the beelzebufo, a giant frog that could grow to a startling 41 centimetres in length, roughly the size of a standard darts board.<\/p>\n

The session will conclude with a short question-and-answer segment and a timely call to action, highlighting the importance of preserving modern marine ecosystems and what humanity stands to lose if it fails to act.<\/p>\n

While the event is free to attend, guests are encouraged to make donations to Froglife<\/a>, a UK charity focused on the conservation of amphibians, reptiles and their habitats.<\/p>\n

The talk will take place in the Bristol Megascreen<\/a>, located within Bristol Aquarium<\/a> on the city\u2019s historic harbourside. The aquarium itself invites visitors on a journey through the world\u2019s oceans, from native species to tropical reefs.<\/p>\n
