Emergency services are at the scene of a “serious” collision this evening<\/a> (Monday, October 27) with motorists being told the avoid the area. A silver Seat Leon car has collided with a lamp post at the junction of Liverpool Road and Kings Drive roundabout in Prescot<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Merseyside Police received reports of the incident<\/a> just after 5.20pm and are in attendance dealing with the incident. A number of road closures have been put in place in the surrounding area<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The ECHO is at the scene of the incident<\/a> and will be bringing you the latest traffic updates<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police<\/a> said: “Road closures are in place following a serious road traffic collision in Knowsley<\/a> this evening, Monday 27 October.<\/p>\n

“Just after 5.20pm we received a report of a collision where a silver Seat Leon car was in collision with a lamp post at the junction of Liverpool Road and Kings Drive roundabout.<\/p>\n

“Emergency services are at the scene while we deal with the incident.<\/p>\n

“Road closures are in place in the surrounding area.<\/p>\n

“Motorists are advised to avoid the area while emergency services deal with the incident. Thank you for your patience.”<\/p>\n

Traffic site Inrix says: “A57 Liverpool Road in both directions closed, slow traffic due to accident at M57 J2 (Prescot). The exit slip road from M57 northbound is also closed. Confirmed to be an accident. Diversion – affecting bus services 10 and 10A.”<\/p>\n
