Tributes have poured in for Bristol City’s<\/a> youngest-ever player, who has died at the age of 42 following a terminal cancer diagnosis.<\/p>\n

Marvin Brown died earlier today (Monday, October 27) after being moved onto end-of-life care at home on Saturday, October 18.<\/p>\n

Doctors discovered he was suffering from a rare form of cancer in his bile duct.<\/p>\n

A fundraiser was set up to support his wife, Alexis, his childhood sweetheart, and his two daughters<\/a>, aged 11 and eight.<\/p>\n

Announcing Marvin’s death, his brother, Aaron Brown, posted on Instagram: “Today I said goodbye to my little brother and my best friend, Marvin.<\/p>\n

“Your fight is finally over, and while I find some peace knowing you\u2019re no longer in pain, my heart is shattered without you here. Life will never be the same.<\/p>\n

“You were everything a brother could ever hope for \u2014 kind, calm, ambitious, thoughtful, and always putting others before yourself.<\/p>\n

“You had this rare gift of making people feel seen, cared for, and loved. You made every room brighter just by being in it. We will miss your laugh and witty one liners.<\/p>\n

“You touched so many lives and left a mark that will never fade. I\u2019m so proud of the man you became \u2014 strong, selfless, and full of heart. The world is better because you were in it, and those of us lucky enough to know you will carry your light forever.<\/p>\n

“I know you\u2019ll always be with us, watching over and guiding us like you always have. You\u2019ll live on in our hearts, in our stories, and in every little thing that reminds us of you.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019ll love you forever, until we meet again, bro.”<\/p>\n

Bristol City posted a tribute on its X account. The club said: “We were saddened to hear of the passing of Marvin Brown, aged 42.<\/p>\n

“Marvin joined the Bristol City Academy at the age of eight and went on to become the club\u2019s youngest player, aged just 16 years and 71 days in September 1999. While at the club, Marvin featured for England Under-16s and Under-17s before moving on to Forest Green Rovers in 2004.<\/p>\n

“A proud Bristolian, Marvin founded Total Pro Soccer, a development centre for young boys in the Bristol area and worked as an Academy coach at Bristol City alongside and beyond his playing career in various roles and played a crucial role in the development of numerous Academy graduates. Our sincere condolences go to his family & friends.”<\/p>\n
