Day one featured some high quality, intriguing matches and Tuesday should be no different in that regard. As always, we here at LWOT will be offering our predictions for every match, but who will come out on top?

WTA Hong Kong Day 2 Predictions
Moyuka Uchijima vs Emiliana Arango

Head-to-head: first meeting

Both players are going through a very bad patch at the moment, with Moyuka Uchijima arriving at the WTA Hong Hong Open amidst on a three match losing streak whilst Emiliana Arango has lost four on the bounce. As such, this match and tournament in general is a great chance to get some confidence back and some momentum ahead of a 2026 season both hope will be more successful than this year. It should be a very close match, decided by small details in the most important points. But at this stage in their career, Uchijima probably has the higher ceiling.

Prediction: Uchijima in 3
Embed from Getty Images

Eudice Chong vs Suzan Lamens

Head-to-head: Chong 1-1 Lamens

Rankings wise, this looks like one the most one sided match of the week, with world #85 Suzan Lamens taking on Eudice Chong, who sits at a comparatively lowly #632. To make things worse for the home hope, Chong is in no form at all having lost each of her last four matches. While Lamens hasn’t exactly been playing great tennis of late, she is clearly the far superior player of the two and it would be a seismic shock if she does not advance to the next round here.

Prediction: Lamens in 2

Veronika Erjavec vs Zhang Shuai

Head-to-head: Zhang 1-0 Erjavec

Whilst a rivalry that is only match old doesn’t necessarily give away a great deal, the fact that their one previous meeting occurred only four days ago suggests it could have a telling impact on this match. In Guangzhou, with Veronika Erjavec won the first set but Zhang Shuai turned the match around to win in three. This match should also be very close and decided by a few points here and there but Zhang seems to be in better form in this final stretch of the season and should have a slight edge here.

Prediction: Zhang in 3
Embed from Getty Images

Anna Kalinskaya vs Kamilla Rakhimova

Head-to-head: Kalinskaya 2-0 Rakhimova

Given the field, Anna Kalinskaya is one of the favorites to win this event and, at least on paper, she’s been handed a very favourable draw in the first round. In two matches against Kamilla Rakhimova, one last year in Dubai and another one this year in Washington, she won all four sets, three of them with a score of 6-2 and another one 6-3. She is clearly the better player of the two and should once again prevail in this matchup.

Prediction: Kalinskaya in 2

Main photo credit: Robert Deutsch-Imagn Images

With the top players perhaps fully focused on the WTA Finals, this week’s tournament in Hong Kong doesn’t…

[4105
27028,27029,39443,39444,172355,172356,53121,53122,30061,30062,169608,169609,79,73882,73883,1068,14653,14654,16,15,169610,169611,24045,23990
0":"post-532293","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-tennis","8":"tag-anna-kalinskaya","9":"tag-anna-kalinskaya-predictions","10":"tag-emiliana-arango","11":"tag-emiliana-arango-predictions","12":"tag-eudice-chong","13":"tag-eudice-chong-predictions","14":"tag-kamilla-rakhimova","15":"tag-kamilla-rakhimova-predictions","16":"tag-moyuka-uchijima","17":"tag-moyuka-uchijima-predictions","18":"tag-shuai-zhang","19":"tag-shuai-zhang-predictions","20":"tag-sports","21":"tag-suzan-lamens","22":"tag-suzan-lamens-predictions","23":"tag-tennis","24":"tag-tennis-picks","25":"tag-tennis-predictions","26":"tag-uk","27":"tag-united-kingdom","28":"tag-veronika-erjavec","29":"tag-veronika-erjavec-predictions","30":"tag-wta-picks","31":"tag-wta-predictions
["GET
