Emmerdale’s Marlon Dingle actor Mark Charnock has teased some big shocks ahead in a special standalone episode, but also in the ‘thriller-style’ months ahead on the ITV soap<\/p>\n

There’s a massive Emmerdale<\/a> twist on the way that will “stagger” viewers, according to one star.<\/p>\n

With a huge standalone episode airing next week, one of three planned, Marlon Dingle actor Marlon Charnock told The Mirror<\/a> that fans can expect a shock. He also teased it wouldn’t end there, and that the months ahead, including the start of 2026, would feature “thriller-like” scenes.<\/p>\n

Scenes next week see Marlon trying to get his teenage daughter April Windsor to open up to him, with him sensing something isn’t right. Of course he has no idea of the trouble she is in at the hands of villains Ray and Celia, including debts, drug deals and Ray sickeningly trying to get teenager April to sleep with his clients.<\/p>\n

It’s left unknown whether April will reveal all to her father, but actor Mark has teased big moments ahead. Mark said: “There\u2019s a twist in the episode that will stagger the audience.<\/p>\n

“I was absolutely buzzing. It\u2019s thrilling, and it\u2019s flattering to be trusted with an episode, and to work with Amelia [Flanagan, who plays April] in that way. It\u2019s an absolutely outstanding script.”<\/p>\n

On the big episode and the twist in store, Mark went on: “Things are going to get considerably worse before they get better and in this special episode, something happens that when i read it, it shocked me so much that I thought \u2018Oh god, I wish I\u2019d known about it before I read it\u2019 because it really threw me, it\u2019s just a great twist of drama.<\/p>\n

“There\u2019s so much good stuff and the great thing about this story is it impacts so many different people. Tony Audenshaw has been brilliant in it as well, as Bob, he has been superb, who\u2019s like a further circle away from the reality of it. It\u2019s a storyline that keeps on giving – it\u2019s dark but in the best dramatic way that a story can be dark.”<\/p>\n

Mark also thinks Marlon would stop at nothing to protect his daughter. He shared: “I think he could do something extraordinarily reckless, I truly believe that character would sacrifice himself for his child. I think he could do something irrational that could cause everlasting damage. He\u2019d do absolutely anything.”<\/p>\n

On what’s ahead, he went on: “There\u2019s some amazing stuff coming up. It\u2019s really hard to answer those questions, I always want to say \u2018And guess what? It\u2019s this!\u2019 but you can\u2019t, can you? As well as this storyline, there\u2019s something coming further down the line that is\u2026<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m reading blocks like it\u2019s a Stephen King novel. Joe Absolom said the same, it\u2019s like \u2018Bloomin eck!\u2019 Charlotte Bellamy, who plays Laurel, said \u2018Have you read this block? It\u2019s unbelievable.\u2019 It\u2019s really exciting. I\u2019ve got to say, some of the stories, not just this one, some of the stuff that is peaking up into into November, December, January, it\u2019s like it\u2019s a thriller, it\u2019s amazing.”<\/p>\n
