The interstellar object that is travelling towards Earth at 130,000mph was detected on 1 July has left millions of people worried after theories have emerged it could be an \u201calien mothership.\u201d<\/p>\n

NASA has said that the object known as 3I\/Atlas which is travelling through space is not acting as a normal comet does and other scientists have spoken out saying its behaviour is strange and it is not a normal comet.<\/p>\n

Astrophysicist Dr Avi Loeb has issued a terrifying statement saying the object is \u201cnor natural\u201d and \u201cfrom an engineer\u2019s perspective\u201d 3I\/Atlas is a \u201cmothership that releases mini-probes\u201d and will \u201c\u2019slow down at perihelion and intercept Earth, taking advantage of the Sun\u2019s gravitational assist,\u201d however the Harvard Professor said this will depend on the mass \u201cof the mini-probe.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dr Loeb said the \u201ccomet\u201d does not have one major thing that all comets have, a tail.<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cThere were claims of a tail.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut since 3I\/ATLAS is accelerating and its current size is not much larger than the angular resolution of Earth-based telescopes, it is not easy to avoid fictitious elongation of the image as a result of the object\u2019s motion.\u201d<\/p>\n

A scientist has said that this may be an \u201calien mothership\u201d as there are differences to this object that are \u201cnot natural\u201d as it is releasing a compound that has never been seen before.<\/p>\n

Dr Loeb wrote on his blog, \u201cI suggested a `Loeb Scale\u2019 for interstellar objects where `0\u2019 is definitely a natural object (comet or asteroid) and `10\u2019 is definitely a technological object (identified by manoeuvres or emission of artificial light or signals).<\/p>\n

\u201cCurrently, I give 3I\/ATLAS a 6 on that scale, but my assessment will change as we get better data on it when it comes closer to the Sun.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cAs of now, I assign a 30 to 40 per cent likelihood that 3I\/ATLAS does not have a fully natural origin.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis low-probability scenario includes the possibility of a black swan event akin to a Trojan Horse, where a technological object masquerades as a natural comet.\u201d<\/p>\n

NASA has added 3I\/Atlas to the International Asteroid Warning Network (IAWN) which comprises of world-wide astronomers and space agencies and have described the comet as a possible \u201cplanetary threat\u201d to Earth.<\/p>\n

3I\/Atlas has raised many red flags as it has been described as showing strange behaviour which has been seen spraying particles towards the Sun instead of the jet particles moving away from it.<\/p>\n

This is called \u201canti-tail\u201d which is releasing a metal composite which has never been seen before. The interstellar object is also releasing nickel and no iron, this is not typical for comets, also nickel tetracarbonyl\u00a0has been identified, this has only ever been made in laboratories.<\/p>\n

Astrophysicist Professor Avi Loeb told the New York Post, \u201cThe alloy has previously been witnessed only in human manufacturing.\u201d<\/p>\n
