The Daily Record is 130 years old today. It is worth recalling how \u00adScotland\u2019s Champion has proudly told the country\u2019s story for more than a century.<\/p>\n

We were there when the UK fought and won two world wars.<\/p>\n

We were there when we built the peace together through the creation of the NHS and the welfare state.<\/p>\n

Our readers were foremost in our minds when we opposed Thatcherism and supported the creation of the \u00adScottish Parliament.<\/p>\n

When Scotland cried over Dunblane, Piper Alpha and Lockerbie, the Record brought you the news with compassion.<\/p>\n

Another constant over the past 130 years has been first class sports coverage.<\/p>\n
