Tool<\/a> frontman Maynard James Keenan<\/a> has said it may take \u201cmodern miracles\u201d to get Ozzy Osbourne<\/a> onstage for Black Sabbath<\/a>\u2018s final ever concert.<\/p>\n

Dubbed \u2018Back To The Beginning\u2019, the final Sabbath date at Birmingham\u2019s Villa Park on July 5<\/a>, boasts a massive, star-studded line-up. Along with Tool<\/a> the likes of Metallica<\/a>, Slayer<\/a>, Pantera<\/a>,\u00a0Alice In Chains<\/a>,\u00a0Gojira<\/a>, Anthrax<\/a>, Smashing Pumpkins<\/a>\u2018\u00a0Billy Corgan<\/a>, Guns N\u2019 Roses<\/a>, and\u00a0KoRn<\/a> are set to perform.<\/p>\n

Although Osbourne recently revealed that he was \u201cin heavy training\u201d<\/a> for the concert, he has had muliple health issues and he previously told fans that he would only be \u201cdoing little bits and pieces\u201d with Sabbath<\/a> at Villa Park amid his health issues.<\/p>\n

Now, in a new interview Loudwire Nights<\/a>, Keenan has said it could be a struggle for Osbourne after seeing him at the Black Sabbath frontman\u2019s induction at the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame last year<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think for me, seeing Ozzy moving around at [the Rock Hall ceremony], the idea of him playing a show at all, if we\u2019re being honest, the conversation about going to do the song was like, \u2018We\u2019ll have this conversation, but, ahh\u2026 I don\u2019t know that this [concert] gonna happen,\u2019\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd even now, I\u2019m cautious about saying, \u2018Yeah! All in, he\u2019s gonna do it.\u2019 Because man, I don\u2019t know what kind of modern miracles we\u2019ll come up with to get him on stage to do the songs, but this is gonna be a challenge for them. So, I\u2019m honoured to be a part of it, but I\u2019m kinda preparing for the worst \u2013 but hoping for the best, as they say.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Tool frontman said he had heard rumours about the concert at the induction.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe conversation first came up when I was at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, hanging out with Wolfgang [Van Halen]<\/a> and some of the guys, I think even [Metallica<\/a> bassist] Robert Trujillo,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were on the travel over there, just going, \u2018OK, well, there\u2019s a rumour about the Black Sabbath show.\u2019 I was like, \u2018Well, let\u2019s do something.\u2019 So I kinda had planned a song to do and all of a sudden I\u2019m at home and I get the call, \u2018Hey, Tool\u2018s been asked to do a song,\u2019 and I\u2019m like \u2018Fuck.\u2019 Now I have to call back Wolfgang and those guys and go, \u2018I\u2019m going to do it with Tool, sorry.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Osbourne\u2019s longtime collaborator and guitarist, Zakk Wylde, recently teased that the Prince Of Darkness may perform from a \u201cthrone that flies over the stadium\u201d<\/a> at the historic event.<\/p>\n

The frontman previously revealed that he now \u201ccan\u2019t walk\u201d<\/a> as a result of Parkinson\u2019s, but Sharon Osbourne assured fans that his illness \u201cdoesn\u2019t affect his voice\u201d.<\/p>\n

When\u00a0speaking to NME\u00a0alongside Tony Iommi at Villa Park in February<\/a>, she said her husband was doing \u201creally great\u201d at the time. She told us that Ozzy was feeling \u201cvery emotional\u201d about the last Sabbath show, and that it was \u201cwhat he wants\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe wants to say thank you to everybody,\u201d Sharon told NME. \u201cHe didn\u2019t have that chance because of his illness, but now he does have the chance.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tom Morello<\/a> will be performing and serving as the gig\u2019s musical director, and has said he is \u201chonoured\u201d to take on the role<\/a>. He\u00a0recently teased some \u201chuge superstars\u201d as \u201csurprises\u201d for the Birmingham show<\/a>.<\/p>\n
