Manchester United winger Marcus Rashford is enjoying a career revival at Barcelona.<\/p>\n

When he left Aston Villa<\/a> at the end of last season, Rashford’s<\/a> career was at a crossroads. Yes, his performances at the West Midlands club were improving, but he was still some way off his best, leading to questions over which Rashford we would see the following season.<\/p>\n

To Barcelona’s credit, they took a gamble despite the warning signs. Now, it seems that gamble is paying off.<\/p>\n

Last week saw Rashford grab a brace and an assist in the 6-1 thrashing of Olympiacos. He followed that up with an assist in El Clasico and while Barcelona<\/a> lost to Real Madrid, it was another milestone on Rashford’s<\/a> journey back to top form. Rashford now has five goals and seven assists for the Catalan club in 13 appearances.<\/p>\n

Plenty of United<\/a> supporters will see Rashford’s numbers and wonder whether there is a scenario whereby he returns to Old Trafford. Unfortunately for them, it feels like that is impossible and his recent comments confirm just that.<\/p>\n

Speaking before the clash with Real Madrid, Rashford told ESPN<\/a>: “It was so many years in one place. People forget this, but 24 years, 23 years of my life was with Manchester United<\/a>. So sometimes you just need a change.<\/p>\n

“I think maybe this is the case with me and yeah, I’m enjoying everything.”<\/p>\n

Rashford is benefitting from a change of scenery, culture and team. It is not a case that the 27-year-old has suddenly been relieved of all pressure, because United and Barca are comparable on that front.<\/p>\n

But in England he was under the spotlight daily and, in a struggling side, he was expected to be the main man. Eyes aren’t always on Rashford to be the key man in Barcelona.<\/p>\n

United and Rashford will always be linked but that chapter is now closed.<\/p>\n
