The winners will be announced at a grand ceremony taking place in January.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">Leading the pack for the city-region in the Curry Restaurant of the Year \u2013 North category are Royal Balti House, which is Bolton&#8217;s oldest Indian restaurant and dates back to 1969, and Indian Affair, which has two sites in Ancoats and <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/chorlton\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Chorlton<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">Royal Balti House, on <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/market-street\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Market Street<\/a> in Farnworth, has also been nominated for the Indian Restaurant of the Year \u2013 North prize. The venue is known for its top Indian grills, pot biryanis, and curries. Shamoli, in Knutsford, is also included in the shortlist.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">The Best of Manchester category is made up of ten venues, including The Original Third Eye, in <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/didsbury\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Didsbury<\/a>, city centre spot Arnero Indian Restaurant, Bardez, in Rusholme, and Hungamaa in Chorlton. The city centre\u2019s Delhi House Cafe, vegan spot Sanskruti Restaurant, and West Didsbury\u2019s The Great Kathmandu also make up the list, alongside Little Hulton\u2019s Spice n Spirits, <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/northern-quarter\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Northern Quarter<\/a>\u2019s Mala, and Ziya Asian Grill in Rusholme.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">The shortlist for Curry Kitchen of the Year included the Gharrana Indian kitchen in <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/altrincham\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Altrincham<\/a>, as well as Curry Cottage and Ouvra Indian Kitchen, both in Sale. Manchester\u2019s Kerala Curry House was also nominated.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\"><a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/bolton\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Bolton<\/a>\u2019s Ayaan\u2019s was nominated for Pakistani Restaurant of the Year, whilst Kabul Karahi &amp; Grill, in Levenshulme, and Bolton\u2019s Afghan Cuisine\u2019n\u2019Grill were both recognised with a mention in the Afghani Restaurant of the Year shortlist.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/0_amr_men_180424_dh88JPG.jpg\" alt=\"The family-run Indian restaurant Delhi House Cafe, in the Corn Exchange, has been nominated\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>The family-run Indian restaurant Delhi House Cafe, in the Corn Exchange, has been nominated(Image: Delhi House Cafe)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">Alongside its Best of Manchester recognition, The Great Kathmandu, in West Didsbury, was also praised in the Nepalese Restaurant of the Year category. Punjabi Dera, in Longsight, was shortlisted for Punjabi Restaurant of the Year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">Sanskruti Restaurant, on Mauldeth Road, earned its second nomination this year in the Vegetarian Restaurant of the Year category. Audenshaw venue The Pearl Restaurant Bar &amp; Lounge was nominated for Bar Curry Restaurant of the Year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">Street Food Restaurant of the Year included a mention for Rusholme and Didsbury spot Bardez, as well as <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/prestwich\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Prestwich<\/a>\u2019s Ahaar Indian Street Food and Bolton\u2019s Mr Chaat &#8211; Indian Street Food.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">Irfan Younis, spokesperson for the 2026 awards, said: \u201cWe look forward to once again celebrating the finest in the UK\u2019s curry scene, recognising the creativity, innovation, and exceptional service that have become synonymous with this beloved cuisine.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">\u201cThe UK\u2019s curry industry is a vital part of our culture, and these awards recognised the exceptional talents of the individuals and businesses that make it so special.
