{"id":534312,"date":"2025-10-29T00:17:21","date_gmt":"2025-10-29T00:17:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/534312\/"},"modified":"2025-10-29T00:17:21","modified_gmt":"2025-10-29T00:17:21","slug":"fsg-have-410m-insurance-option-if-arne-slot-crisis-continues-at-liverpool","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/534312\/","title":{"rendered":"FSG have \u00a3410m insurance option if Arne Slot crisis continues at Liverpool"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Liverpool have endured a shocking start to their Premier League title defence, which will cause concerns <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/tbrfootball.com\/liverpool-get-one-over-man-city-and-arsenal-behind-the-scenes-it-explains-fsgs-450m-transfer-spend\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Liverpool spent close to \u00a3450m<\/a> over the summer on new additions, including the likes of Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz.<\/p>\n<p>So far, <a href=\"https:\/\/tbrfootball.com\/topic\/arne-slot\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Arne Slot<\/a> has struggled to get all his new signings to gel, which has left the Reds trailing Arsenal by seven points and sitting in seventh place.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"btbf-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@BeyondTheBackFour?sub_confirmation=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">    <img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" style=\"object-fit:unset\" src=\"https:\/\/tbrfootball.com\/wp-content\/themes\/grv-media\/img\/podcast\/btbf-title.svg\" alt=\"\"\/>   Click to subscribe to the podcast <img decoding=\"async\" style=\"object-fit:unset;height:30px;width:fit-content\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/tbrfootball.com\/wp-content\/themes\/grv-media\/img\/podcast\/youtube.svg\" alt=\"\"\/>   <\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Merseyside club have now lost each of their last four Premier League fixtures, which will raise alarm bells as to where they could end up this season.<\/p>\n<p>However, <strong>TBR Football\u2019s<\/strong> head of football finance, <a href=\"https:\/\/tbrfootball.com\/author\/adamwilliams\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Adam Williams<\/a>, and Kieran Maguire from Beyond The Back Four podcast have explained why missing out on the Champions League football wouldn\u2019t cause complete financial chaos at Anfield.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/GettyImages-2238582685-1-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"John Henry, owner of Liverpool FC, attends a Boston Red Sox match\" class=\"wp-image-993530\" \/>Photo by Danielle Parhizkaran\/The Boston Globe via Getty ImagesFSG have Liverpool well-equipped to cover Arne Slot\u2019s team\u2019s poor form <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/tbrfootball.com\/topic\/liverpool\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Liverpool<\/a> are well-equipped to deal with a season not playing <a href=\"https:\/\/tbrfootball.com\/topic\/champions-league\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Champions League<\/a> football, thanks to FSG\u2019s tightly run ship, according to Maguire.<\/p>\n<p>The Reds\u2019 American\u00a0owners have set up the club to ensure there is a strong stream of cash coming in through matchday and commercial income.<\/p>\n<p>In the last financial year, <a href=\"https:\/\/tbrfootball.com\/top-chief-quits-fsg-liverpool-chairman-tom-werner-will-be-conflicted-as-crazy-10bn-idea-gathers-pace\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Liverpool earned \u00a3410m<\/a> from matchday and commercial income, which is the amount they are more or less guaranteed even before Premier League and Champions League prize money.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Liverpool-revenue-projections.png\" alt=\"Chart showing Liverpool revenue over the years with projections for 2024-25 and 2025-26, with TBR Football logo\" class=\"wp-image-952465\" \/>Liverpool revenue projections<\/p>\n<p>Credit: Adam Williams\/TBR Football\/GRV Media<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, the Merseyside club have a \u2018lot of leeway\u2019 in the event of missing out on the money from participating in the Champions League.<\/p>\n<p>Explaining the situation on Beyond The Back Four, Maguire claimed: \u201cThey\u2019ve got an awful lot of leeway, Liverpool, because FSG run quite a conservative ship, so that they\u2019ve not incurred huge losses.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo one year out of the Champions League is something which they can deal with easily, two years is imperfect, if it gets to three, then you\u2019ve got a problem, but I think we\u2019re a long way off that.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe recent expansion of Anfield, the new deal with Adidas, I suspect there will be a renewal of the deal with Standard Chartered as well. They will prime the pump very well as far as the money coming into the club is concerned.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChampions League participation, it\u2019s desirable but not essential, simply because Liverpool are such a well-run club on other issues that they can survive without it. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s more of an issue for attracting players.
