The venue has not reopened since. Before it was Reds, the building was home to the Livebait seafood restaurant, which was open from 2006 to 2011.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">Built between 1867 and 1868, Lloyd House was granted listed status in 1974. The building was once the former headquarters of the Manchester Shipping Offices and Packing Company, in around 1887.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">Tokyo Industries have announced that the Albert Square venue will be reopening very soon as a new Irish <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/pubs-and-bars\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">bar<\/a>, aiming to embrace an \u2018Irish American feel\u2019. Aaron Mellor, founder of the brand, said the venue would feature amazing food and great live entertainment, alongside the \u2018finest Guinness\u2019.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">It will also serve all-day traditional Ulster Fry breakfasts, as well as Sunday roasts boasting the likes of Guinness gravy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">Posting on LinkedIn, Aaron admitted that the venue\u2019s name had not yet been decided &#8211; with the team behind the bar having \u2018come up with about 300 names and suffering choice fatigue\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/0_AMR_MEN_281025_RT2.jpg\" alt=\"The barbecue spot was in town for nine years\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>The barbecue spot was in town for nine years<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">Suggested names have so far included Dirty O\u2019Sullivans, The Perfect Pint, The Dublin Docker, and Reds True Irish, which would serve as a perfect ode to its former namesake.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">The Hare &amp; Harp, The Craic Den and Oscar Wildes have also been mentioned as favourite potential names, as well as House of Guinness, which is the same name as the <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/whats-on\/netflix-house-guinness-filmed-greater-32553052\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">recent Netflix series which was filmed across Greater Manchester<\/a> and revolves around the family behind the Guinness brewing company in 19th-century Ireland and New York.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">Commenting on Aaron\u2019s post, some people shared their love for the names. \u201c&#8217;The Craic Den&#8217; is genius,&#8221; one person commented. Another wrote: \u201cReds True Irish has to win &#8211; a themed donut burger as a nod to the old site on the menu too.\u201d One other said: \u201cOscar Wildes a must.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">Adding their own suggestions, one wrote: &#8220;If it\u2019s Irish themed in Manchester then what about: \u201cWhat&#8217;s the story\u201d With reference to the Irish greeting that means &#8220;What&#8217;s up?&#8221;, &#8220;How are you?&#8221;, or &#8220;What&#8217;s going on?&#8221;.
