While Selena<\/a>, 33, was attempting to deliver a positive message about how Rare Beauty<\/a> highlights real, natural features, many took offense to the comments.\u00a0<\/p>\n The company has used hundreds of different models since it launched in September 2020 \u2013 making many feel Selena\u2019s comments disregard their talents and professions.\u00a0<\/p>\n Her remarks caught the eye of one Rare Beauty model who spoke exclusively to The U.S. Sun about hearing Selena\u2019s comments.\u00a0<\/p>\n The model, who does not wish to be named due to fear of not being hired for future campaigns, has been working with the brand since 2024.\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tREAD MORE ON SELENA GOMEZ\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t EYE OUT FOR SELENA<\/p>\n Hailey Bieber and Selena Gomez risk awkward run at glam Hollywood gala<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t<\/a> \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t SAVAGE SWIPE<\/p>\n Selena Gomez hits back at Hailey Bieber saying ‘she can say what she wants’<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cI actually cried when I heard Selena\u2019s comments,\u201d the model claimed, who then added: \u201cI was already having a bad day and was feeling really sensitive and emotional.\u201d<\/p>\n She continued: \u201cI was feeling nervous about some career stuff, and then I saw that video of her saying I\u2019m not even a real model.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cIt hit me at the worst time because now I\u2019m like\u2026 \u2018what am I even doing?\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cI thought this would be a big break for me, and to be told by the founder of the company that I look up to that I am not \u2018real\u2019 at my job?\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s degrading and embarrassing. The number of family and friends who sent me that clip after was mortifying.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n The model said that she has not yet had a chance to meet Selena in person but fired off that \u201cat this point, I\u2019m good.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t need to meet her. I hope in the future she chooses her words more wisely and remembers how much influence she has.\u201d<\/p>\n When asked if the model, who has gone on to work with other large beauty brands, would pose for Rare again, she confessed: \u201cIf it\u2019s a huge campaign, I\u2019m not in a position to say no to it.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cBut to be honest, would I want to work for a company again that discards what I do, or am trying to do, for a living? Ideally not.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019d like to work for brands that see me, that believe in me. I thought Rare was the epitome of that you know?
