smart analysis. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rousingthekop.com\/club\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Liverpool<\/a> will need to adapt their game and adapt it fast if they are to keep up with the rest of the teams in the league, with some players now surplus to requirements.<\/p>\n<p>And there is one star in particular whose Premier League career might be over given how sides have evolved their game.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"698\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/GettyImages-2238817425-1024x698.jpg\" alt=\"Watru Endo on the pitch for Liverpool against Chelsea in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge.\" class=\"wp-image-265713\" \/>Photo by Crystal Pix\/MB Media\/Getty ImagesWataru Endo might not play for Liverpool in the Premier League again<\/p>\n<p>Having a squad full of options is a necessity given how many games teams have to play this season, and Liverpool have a decent amount of depth, especially in midfield.  <\/p>\n<p>One player they have often called upon before to see games out has been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rousingthekop.com\/tag\/wataru-endo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wataru Endo<\/a>, with the Japanese star the perfect option to protect the backline, or at least he was. <\/p>\n<p>Endo has seen very limited game time for a number of reasons, but the first is that Liverpool have not found themselves holding onto a lead very often so far in the campaign. <\/p>\n<p>Another reason why, though, and one that could mean his Premier League career is over, is that he simply does not have the aerial ability to compete with the new demands of the league. <\/p>\n<p>Teams are far more direct now, with set pieces and long throw-ins a key part of the game, something Endo would struggle with given that he is 5 foot 10 inches tall.<\/p>\n<p>That may not seem small but he does not have the power to jump higher than those taller than him either, meaning he really would be a weakness in the team.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ MORE: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rousingthekop.com\/2025\/10\/28\/how-liverpools-owners-are-feeling-about-arne-slot-as-managers-job-starts-to-be-questioned\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">How Liverpool\u2019s owners are feeling about Arne Slot as manager\u2019s job starts to be questioned<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The fact that a lot of his minutes have come at centre-back as well when given the chance suggests that he is not an option there anymore either, making it hard to see where he fits into the side.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpool.com\/liverpool-fc-news\/features\/wataru-endo-arne-slot-message-31026743\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Endo has been a \u2018special\u2019 player<\/a> for Liverpool and a really good squad option, but given the way football in England is changing, his \u2018type\u2019 of player might be obsolete.<\/p>\n<p>Wataru Endo should still see out his contract<\/p>\n<p>Despite it being hard to see where he gets minutes, there will still be a few chances to impress, suggesting it is always good to keep him around.<\/p>\n<p>He could get a chance in the early rounds of the cup simply due to rotation, with Liverpool\u2019s match against Crystal Palace perhaps one where he might start.<\/p>\n<p>But at 32, he is not at the point in his career where he will get another big move or command a high transfer fee, suggesting it is best to keep him around.<\/p>\n<p>Endo will always give his all no matter how often he gets the chance too, with players who have an attitude like his being people who need to be kept within the group to act as role models.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Liverpool have to be honest with themselves and move players on when they see fit.
