Starbucks isn\u2019t doing so well in Britain right now. The coffee chain has shut down 10 branches in the UK in just the past month<\/a>, and a whopping six of them are in the capital. Londoners will have to go elsewhere for their pumpkin spice\u00a0frappuccinos\u00a0from now on.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The closures have come\u00a0comes as Starbucks\u00a0has reassessed\u00a0its portfolio in Europe and the United States<\/a>, citing\u00a0difficult trading conditions. A spokesperson for the chain said closures were made\u00a0\u2018with the goal of ensuring that our stores are correctly located, generating appropriate levels of foot traffic and operating in the right formats\u2019.<\/p>\n

The company said the sites chosen for closure were because they weren\u2019t able to \u2018create the physical environment customers want\u2019 and were not performing financially.\u00a0However, the coffee\u00a0bosses\u00a0have said they are still sticking to their target of opening 80 new stores across the UK\u00a0before the end of the current\u00a0financial year.\u00a0<\/p>\n
