A woman was assaulted<\/a> at Cabot Circus<\/a> this afternoon (Wednesday, October 29). Avon and Somerset Police<\/a> were called to the Broadmead shopping centre at 3.13pm.<\/p>\n

Shoppers reported a major police presence as HSBC bank was evacuated<\/a>. It remains closed and a cordon is in place while investigations take place.<\/p>\n

Police say officers arrived within minutes and arrested a man in his 40s. The victim was taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: “At 3.13pm today (Wednesday, October 29) we received a report that a woman had been assaulted at Cabot Circus in Bristol.<\/p>\n

“Officers attended within minutes and arrested a man aged in his 40s.<\/p>\n

“The victim has been taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.<\/p>\n

“A cordon is in place while initial investigations take place and officers remain at the scene.<\/p>\n

“Anyone who witnessed the incident should call 101, giving the call handler the reference number 5225303372.”<\/p>\n

A witness described police officers running through the crowd and apprehending a man. Police were reportedly seen searching bins and removing a bin liner to be searched.<\/p>\n
