data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"birminghammail\">A woman has sadly died after she was struck by a vehicle in Oldbury.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"birminghammail\">The lady, who was said to be in her 60s, was walking along the Wolverhampton Road, near the Wernley Pub, when she was fatally hit just after 6.30am.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"birminghammail\">Paramedics administered trauma care before transferring her to <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/all-about\/queen-elizabeth-hospital\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Queen Elizabeth Hospital<\/a> in a critical condition.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"birminghammail\"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\"><a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"birminghammail\">Despite the best efforts of medical staff, nothing could be done to save her.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"birminghammail\">A 31-year-old man who was previously detained on suspicion of drug driving has now been further arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/1_JS386112547.jpg\" alt=\"Police at collision investigators carried out their enquiries but has now reopened.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"birminghammail\"><a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/all-about\/west-midlands-police\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">West Midlands Police<\/a> is appealing to anyone who saw what happened or who may have CCTV or dashcam to contact them.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"birminghammail\">The force said: &#8220;A woman who was seriously injured following a collision in <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/all-about\/sandwell\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Sandwell<\/a> this morning has tragically died.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"birminghammail\">&#8220;She was taken to hospital after being hit by a vehicle near the junction of Wolverhampton Road and Albert Road at just after 6.30am.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"birminghammail\">&#8220;The woman, aged in her 60s, has now sadly died and our thoughts and support are with her loved ones at this terrible time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"birminghammail\">&#8220;A 31-year-old man who was previously detained on suspicion of drug driving has now been further arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.<\/p>\n<p
