Newry<\/a> hospital have been partially closed off to help combat the spread of the virus.<\/p>\nThe SHSCT confirmed that to help prevent the spread of infection, the two wards are currently closed to new admissions and full infection control measures have been implemented.<\/p>\n
A spokesperson for SHSCT said: \u201cThese wards remain fully operational, and care and treatment continues to be provided to patients.<\/p>\n
\u201cVisiting has also been temporarily suspended on both wards to help prevent the spread of infection.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe situation will continue to be reviewed and appropriate action taken to protect everybody in the affected wards.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Trust has also issued a general appeal to visitors to limit the spread of this common virus: \u201cWe are appealing to people to help prevent the further spread of infection by only visiting the Hospital if they really need to; restricting visiting to designated visiting times and using the alcohol hand rub provided.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe also urge people not to visit if they or someone in their household has symptoms of cold, flu, vomiting or diarrhoea.\u201d<\/p>\n
