{"id":537039,"date":"2025-10-30T06:46:11","date_gmt":"2025-10-30T06:46:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/537039\/"},"modified":"2025-10-30T06:46:11","modified_gmt":"2025-10-30T06:46:11","slug":"scotlands-top-employers-celebrated-at-prestigious-herald-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/537039\/","title":{"rendered":"Scotland\u2019s top employers celebrated at prestigious Herald awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\"><strong>LEGAL firm Jones Whyte has been named Scottish Top Employer of the Year at a dazzling gala ceremony that took place last night in the Radisson Blu Hotel in Glasgow.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The award, sponsored by Trump Turnberry, was the most prestigious accolade on a roll call of plaudits that were presented to companies of all sizes during The Herald and s1jobs Top Employer Awards, also sponsored by Flexibility Works and Lime.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Praising Jones Whyte for \u201cexcelling across the most important elements of every award category\u201d, the judges said: \u201cBy combining career development, wellbeing, inclusivity, innovation and community impact, they\u2019ve built a workplace where employees thrive, feel valued, and are empowered \u2013 setting the standard for a truly people-focused employer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\"><strong>The Herald and s1jobs Top Employer Awards shortlist revealed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">In the Top Employer of the Year (Small), category, sponsored by Lime, the accolade went to Victor Pizza Company, a family-run business based in Glasgow, while Top Employer of the Year (Medium\/Large), presented by The Herald, was claimed by Scottish-headquartered law firm Shepherd &amp; Wedderburn.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Judges chose Victor Pizza as their winner for \u201ccreating a truly people-first workplace\u201d, adding: \u201cFrom mentoring young people to peer-led training, innovative facilities, and community engagement, Victor Pizza fosters loyalty, growth, and pride, showing that when employees thrive, the business thrives too.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Describing why Shepherd &amp; Wedderburn won Top Employer of the Year (Medium\/Large), they praised its \u201cstandout people-first culture\u201d, stating: \u201cWith inclusive policies, strong wellbeing support, career development, and family-friendly initiatives, they create a workplace where everyone thrives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The firm, whose Platinum Investors in People accreditations were highlighted, has offices in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heraldscotland.com\/local-news\/edinburgh-news\/?ref=au\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Edinburgh;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Edinburgh<\/a>, Glasgow, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heraldscotland.com\/local-news\/aberdeen-news\/?ref=au\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Aberdeen;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Aberdeen<\/a>, London, and Dublin, was also the recipient of Best Employee Recognition Programme, presented by Localiq.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Among others honoured on the night were The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heraldscotland.com\/topics\/scottish-government\/?ref=au\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Scottish Government;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Scottish Government<\/a> for Best Apprenticeship\/Graduate Programme, Cairngorms National Park Authority for Best Diversity and Inclusion Dynamic in the Workplace, while Hardie Polymers won Best Training and Skills Development Initiative, presented by s1jobs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The Scottish Government, the judges said, was selected winner of its category for its innovative Future Planners Programme, a groundbreaking graduate scheme addressing Scotland\u2019s planning skills gap while Hardie Polymers claimed its category win for its pioneering, people-focused WOW Programme, which integrates tailored training, leadership development, and hands-on learning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Cairngorms National Park Authority demonstrated \u201cexceptional, organisation-wide leadership in embedding equality, diversity and inclusion\u201d, the judges said, praising the organisation\u2019s commitment to \u201cbold policies, lived-experience partnerships and measurable impact\u201d which have helped it create a thriving, diverse workforce and a \u201ctruly inclusive \u2018Park for All\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">In the Best Flexible Working Initiative category, sponsored by Flexibility Works, the winner was Canon Medical Research Europe Ltd, a company that develops imaging solutions for the healthcare sector.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Judges pointed to the company\u2019s \u201cenhanced flexible working approach\u201d through which it has \u201cembedded trust, autonomy and innovation into its culture, achieving measurable improvements in wellbeing, retention, productivity and sustainability\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The judges also decided to award a commendation to Glasgow-based <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heraldscotland.com\/topics\/alba\/?ref=au\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Alba;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Alba<\/a> Facilities Services Ltd in this category.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Pineview Housing Association, meanwhile, was presented with the Employee Career Development Award, presented by s1homes. Located in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.glasgowtimes.co.uk\/local-news\/drumchapel-news\/?ref=au\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Drumchapel;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Drumchapel<\/a>, Glasgow, the housing association was praised by the judges for its exceptional commitment to internal career development and support, setting a benchmark in workforce development.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">In the Inspiring Employee Culture Award, the judges elected Ayrshire Hospice as their winner, pointing to its exceptional workplace culture with kindness, compassion and inclusivity embedded into every role. They also highlighted investing in training, wellbeing, and engagement initiatives, and empowering staff and volunteers, at the hospice.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">However, the judges were also impressed with Newton <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heraldscotland.com\/topics\/property\/?ref=au\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Property;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Property<\/a> Management, awarding the Glasgow firm with a commendation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Speaking after the event, Nic Oldham, general manager at Trump Turnberry in Ayrshire, said: \u201cThe Herald and s1jobsTop Employer Awards 2025 have been a fitting tribute to the organisations raising the bar for workplace excellence.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cAt Trump Turnberry Resort, we were delighted to be part of this celebration and to support the recognition of employers who put their people first. The winners truly showed what\u2019s possible when businesses lead with purpose and ambition.
