Dave Mustaine<\/a> has seemingly recorded a Metallica<\/a> cover for Megadeth<\/a>\u2018s final album \u2013 find out more below.<\/p>\n

Back in August, Megadeth announced their self-titled final album that\u2019s due for release sometime in 2026<\/a> \u2013 can pre-order it\u00a0here<\/a>. Apart from the metal icons confirming that they will be retiring after releasing the record, they\u2019ve also confirmed that they\u2019ll be heading on a global farewell tour next year.<\/p>\n

Since announcing the album, Megadeth have released one single; \u2018Tipping Point\u2019<\/a>. It is just the first of 13 tracks that will make up the album. The Mustaine-fronted band have slowly been rolling out the album\u2019s tracklist since announcing the album. To date, 10 titles including \u2018Tipping Point\u2019 have been revealed.<\/p>\n

Back in June, Mustaine hinted at the new album in an interview with Norwegian radio station Stjernepose, saying per Loudwire: \u201cWe have 13 new songs for the new album\u2026 One of the songs is a cover song but I actually wrote it, so it\u2019s kind of like a cover, kind of like my song.\u201d<\/p>\n

Since then, fans have been trying to decipher what the cover Mustaine alluded to might be and now finally think they\u2019ve cracked the code. In a post shared on social media recently, Megadeth unveiled two new song titles to feature on the album, but eagle-eyed fans have pointed out that faintly unveiled letterings from unrevealed tracks seem to suggest Megadeth are covering Metallica\u2019s \u2018Ride The Lightning\u2019.<\/p>\n

While Mustaine was kicked out of Metallica in 1983 before they released their debut album \u2018Kill \u2018Em All\u2019 and his recordings were re-recorded by Kirk Hammett, Mustaine is credited with writing four songs on the album, and is also credited with writing two tracks on Metallica\u2019s sophomore album: \u2018Ride The Lightning\u2019 and \u2018The Call of Ktulu\u2019.<\/p>\n

While Mustaine and Megadeth have shared a rocky relationship since his firing, he\u2019s since made up with them, and apart from Megadeth joining the Big Four of Thrash Metal performances with Metallica, Slayer and Anthrax in 2010<\/a>, Mustaine also joined Metallica for their 30th anniversary concert the following year<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Back in May, Mustaine accused Metallica of stealing the \u2018Enter Sandman\u2019 riff from crossover thrash group Excel\u2019s 1989 track\u00a0\u2018Tapping Into The Emotional Void\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n
