Josh Freese is set to reunite with Weezer<\/a>. Find all the details below.<\/p>\n

The drummer is set to join Weezer on their upcoming South American tour, which kicks off in November.<\/p>\n

Taking to Instagram, Freese wrote: \u201cGetting ready to head down to South America with some old friends,\u201d adding on his story: \u201clooking forward to South America with Weezer coming up.\u201d<\/p>\n

Freese was previously a touring drummer for Weezer from 2007 to 2012 and is currently drumming for Nine Inch Nails<\/a>, after departing Foo Fighters<\/a> earlier this year.<\/p>\n

In May, the Foos announced that\u00a0Freese had been let go as their drummer,<\/a>\u00a0with Freese saying he was \u201cshocked\u201d and \u201cdisappointed\u201d by the booting.<\/p>\n

At the time, he\u00a0wrote that \u201cthe Foo Fighters called me Monday night to let me know they\u2019ve decided \u2018to go in a different direction with their drummer\u2019.<\/a>\u00a0No reason was given. Regardless, I enjoyed the past two years with them, both on and off stage and I support whatever they feel is best for the band.\u201d<\/p>\n

He had joined the Foos as their touring drummer in 2023 following\u00a0the sudden passing of Taylor Hawkins<\/a>\u00a0in March 2022.<\/p>\n

He later\u00a0jokingly shared 10 possible reasons why he was \u201cbooted\u201d from the band<\/a>, including whistling \u201c\u2018My Hero\u2019 for a week solid on tour\u201d and \u201cstarting every rehearsal with a 20 minute cowbell sound bath\u201d.<\/p>\n

In July,\u00a0it was reported that the Foo Fighters had locked in their new drummer<\/a>, in the form of\u00a0Nine Inch Nails<\/a>\u2018 Ilan Rubin.\u00a0Then, Nine Inch Nails confirmed Rubin\u2019s departure, sharing an image of Freese with the caption \u201cLet\u2019s fucking GO\u201d.<\/p>\n

Freese recently addressed his sacking from Foo Fighters<\/a>, explaining: \u201cLooking back, it was probably more an issue with their management.\u201d However, the drummer said the Foos\u2019 material \u201cwasn\u2019t music that I really resonated with\u201d.\u00a0He rejoined Nine Inch Nails last month for their North American \u2018Peel It Back\u2019 tour<\/a>.<\/p>\n
