Prince Harry, 41, appeared on the Hasan Minhaj Doesn&#8217;t Know podcast this week, where he warned about the impact of social media on children&#8217;s health and revealed he and <a class=\"hm-link he-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hellomagazine.com\/tags\/meghan-markle\/\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"article-body-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Meghan<\/a> had already had conversations about what to do if their children, <a class=\"hm-link he-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hellomagazine.com\/tags\/archie-harrison\/\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"article-body-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Prince Archie<\/a>, six, and <a class=\"hm-link he-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hellomagazine.com\/tags\/lilibet-diana\/\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"article-body-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Princess Lilibet<\/a>, four, <a class=\"hm-link he-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hellomagazine.com\/royalty\/864523\/prince-harry-difficult-conversations-meghan-children-social-media\/\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"article-body-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ask to have a phone in future<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p id=\"eMD6_EEdUaY\" data-wc=\"43\">During a light-hearted segment of the chat, Harry revealed that the &#8220;most American thing&#8221; he does is surfing, before comic Hasan\u00a0coached the royal in how to say: &#8220;I ordered breadsticks with ranch dressing at Applebee&#8217;s&#8221; like he was born in the US.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ewqsXoq_JN6\" data-wc=\"80\">Later in a quick fire round of questions Harry was asked if he will become a US citizen, to which he replied:<strong>\u00a0&#8220;There are no plans to be at this point.&#8221;\u00a0<\/strong>The Sussexes are settled at their Montecito mansion they moved into five years ago after quitting the monarchy. Harry&#8217;s latest comments come after he said he had &#8220;considered&#8221; becoming a US citizen, but that it wasn&#8217;t a &#8220;high priority&#8221; during an <a class=\"hm-link he-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hellomagazine.com\/royalty\/513605\/prince-harry-addresses-king-charles-cancer-diagnosis-first-time-gma-interview-will-reeves\/\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"article-body-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">interview with Good Morning America<\/a> in February 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Meghan studied for British citizenship test<\/p>\n<p id=\"eFR64cpVQvC\" data-wc=\"87\">The Duchess of Sussex previously revealed she found the British citizenship test &#8220;so hard&#8221; and even her husband had &#8220;no idea&#8221; of some of the answers. Meghan made the comments on an episode of her\u00a0Archetypes podcast in 2022. Speaking to actress and director Pamela Adlon, Meghan said: <strong>&#8220;That citizenship exam is so hard. I was studying for it and I remember going &#8216;Oh my goodness&#8217;. I would ask my husband &#8216;Did you know this? But the Sussexes stepped back as senior working royals in 2020 and moved to the US, amid reports Meghan had abandoned the process of seeking citizenship.<\/p>\n<p>Archie and Lilibet dual citizenship<\/p>\n<p id=\"eCRdtmFTwji\" data-wc=\"49\">While Archie was born at the Portland Hospital in London on 6 May 2019, and Lilibet arrived at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in California on 4 June 2021, as they are children of an American citizen (Meghan) and a British citizen (Harry), they are entitled to obtain dual citizenship. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p> <img src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/8df0f4ab3152-screenshot-2025-09-22-at-130205.png\"   width=\"835\" height=\"1024\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Archie and Lilibet looking at Lilibet's Little Mermaid-themed cake on Lilibet's  4th birthday\" fetchpriority=\"auto\" class=\"image image\"\/>\u00a9 ABC \/ Meghan MarkleArchie and Lilibet, pictured at Disneyland in June, are both entitled to dual citizenship<\/p>\n<p id=\"e5CEJxShkjFj\" data-wc=\"80\">According to the <a class=\"hm-link he-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/apply-citizenship-british-parent\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"article-body-link\" target=\"_blank\">UK government website<\/a>: &#8220;British citizenship is normally automatically passed down one generation to children born outside the UK. For example, you might automatically become a citizen if you&#8217;re born outside the UK to a British parent.
