David May was formerly the manager of Sam Ryder, who represented the United Kingdom at Eurovision 2022, and was Project Director for the BBC in Eurovision in 2025. Andrew Cartmell remains as the Head of Delegation; this will be his eighth Eurovision Song Contest since first holding the role in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>In 2025, Andrew and David worked with UK record labels, publishers, songwriters, BBC Music and BBC Introducing to find the United Kingdom\u2019s representative in the Eurovision Song Contest.<\/p>\n<p>The United Kingdom has used internal selections to select their entry for the Eurovision Song Contest since 2020, following a four contest run of holding a national selection, which had mixed results. The United Kingdom\u2019s results since its return to an internal selection are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2020 \u2013 James Newman \u2013 \u201cMy Last Breath\u201d \u2013 Contest cancelled due to COVID-19<\/li>\n<li>2021 \u2013 James Newman \u2013 \u201cEmbers\u201d \u2013 26th \u2013 0 points<\/li>\n<li>2022 \u2013 Sam Ryder \u2013 \u201cSpace Man\u201d \u2013 2nd \u2013 466 points<\/li>\n<li>2023 \u2013 Mae Muller \u2013 \u201cI Wrote a Song\u201d \u2013 25th \u2013 24 points<\/li>\n<li>2024 \u2013 Olly Alexander \u2013 \u201cDizzy\u201d \u2013 18th \u2013 46 points<\/li>\n<li>2025 \u2013 Remember Monday \u2013 \u201cWhat the Hell Just Happened?\u201d \u2013 19th \u2013 88 points<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Remember Monday represented the United Kingdom at Eurovision 2025 in Basel with their song, \u201cWhat The Hell Just Happened?\u201d. They finished in 19th place with 88 points. To date, the UK has won the contest a total of five times, with their first victory coming in 1967 and their latest in 1997. The UK holds the record for the most second-place finishes in the contest, having been runner-up a total of 16 times.
