Picture: Krystian Feledyn<\/p>\n<p>National Highways warned drivers to expect delays in the area.<\/p>\n<p>The fire service was called to the scene and a spokesman said: \u201cKent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a vehicle fire between junction 8 and 9 on the M20 London bound near Lenham, Maidstone<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTwo fire engines attended and crews, wearing breathing apparatus, used hose reel jets to extinguish the flames.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are no reported injuries and the cause is not yet known.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At 8.02pm, posting on X, National Highways said: &#8220;Fire extinguished, recovery and clear-up complete, #M20 westbound between J9 #Ashford and J8 #Hollingbourne is OPEN.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Thank you for your patience, delays are clearing quickly.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><strong>Avoid getting stuck on Kent&#8217;s roads by keeping up-to-date on all of the latest traffic and travel by <\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kentonline.co.uk\/news\/live-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">following our live blog.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Drivers are facing delays on the M20 this evening due to a car fire.
