Eddie Howe is undoubtedly a Newcastle United legend. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Howe<\/a>, of course, is the man who ended Newcastle United<\/a>\u2019s long wait for a major trophy after winning the Carabao Cup<\/a> last month.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Even beyond footballing matters, however, it was fantastic to see the Newcastle United manager<\/a> back on the touchline.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Howe has been recovering from pneumonia<\/a> but was back in the dugout at St James\u2019 Park<\/a> as Newcastle beat Ipswich 3-0<\/a> on Saturday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

That win kept his team on course for a second Champions League<\/a> qualification in three seasons, which would prove the icing on the cake to what has already been an historic campaign.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Glenn Hoddle in fact believes Howe could soon be set for a statue outside the ground! \u00a0<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a subject to have been raised before. <\/p>\n

Fellow Newcastle legend Alan Shearer believes Howe deserves a statue outside St James\u2019 Park<\/a> following the cup success.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Hoddle, however, believes that adding a return to the Champions League to the win at Wembley could yet seal the deal. <\/p>\n

Speaking on Premier League Productions<\/a>, the former England manager said: \u201cIt\u2019s [Newcastle\u2019s season] special anyway.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019ve won a trophy at Newcastle, my word. But to add that with a Champions League position as well. Jason Tindall<\/a> and the rest of the Newcastle United coaching staff<\/a> did an excellent job without Howe on the touchline, it must be said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

While that of course deserves a mention, it\u2019s just fantastic to see Howe back in action for Newcastle. <\/p>\n

The greatest manager Newcastle have had in the modern age, having him back on the touchline is a major boost for the final few games of the season.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Health, however, is obviously the most important thing.<\/p>\n

Reflecting after the game, Howe said it was \u201cgreat\u201d to have returned to work and that he was pleased with the result, even if the performance was lacking in energy up until the point that Alexander Isak scored the opener. \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
