Harry Potter’s global success launched many young actors into the limelight, but some have since left showbiz for entirely different careers.<\/p>\n

While Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe are still household names, several of their Hogwarts classmates have faded from the public eye.<\/p>\n

In Harry Potter<\/a> and the Goblet of Fire (2005), Hogwarts welcomed students from foreign schools for the Triwizard Tournament, in which Harry Potter vied for the trophy. Among these was Stanislav Yanevski, who played Viktor Krum and has since embarked on a completely different career path.<\/p>\n

Now 40, the Bulgarian actor portrayed the famous Quidditch star and Hermione Granger’s love interest (Emma Watson) in the fourth film of the series.<\/p>\n

He competed against Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) in the tournament and almost appeared in the penultimate film, Deathly Hallows: Part One – his brief deleted scene can still be found on YouTube<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, two decades after what could have been a career-defining role, Yanevski has given up acting. His last role was in the 2021 film Last Man Down, but he has since become an educator and motivational speaker.<\/p>\n

Stanislav announced his career change to his 281,000 followers, posting: “Today was a very motivational day. I took part in a lecture and hope to have inspired the students as much as they inspired me.”<\/p>\n

His portrayal of Krum was characterised by a shaved head and light facial hair, but Stanislav now looks completely different. Even the most dedicated Potter fans might struggle to recognise him at first glance, with his longer hair and full beard.<\/p>\n

Despite leaving acting behind, Stanislav has managed to reconnect with several of his Harry Potter co-stars. He met up with Draco Malfoy actor Tom Felton at a Potter convention in the summer of 2023.<\/p>\n

“We were sitting together in the Great Hall and had some of the best most fun times together,” he reminisced on Instagram<\/a>. “Who would have thought they’d get along this well.”<\/p>\n
