Arne Slot was taken aback after he was asked about getting a new Liverpool contract in the future.<\/strong> <\/p>\n

Slot\u2019s contract with Liverpool is set to run out at the end of next season<\/a>, and at the moment, it\u2019s unclear whether he\u2019ll be offered an extension. <\/p>\n

Last term, the former Feyenoord boss managed to win the Premier League<\/a> at the first time of asking, but this season, things have gone rather pear-shaped. <\/p>\n

The Reds have lost six out of their last seven games, with some people questioning whether he could end up being relieved of his duties. <\/p>\n

However, his contract situation is clearly not on his mind at the moment, after what he said about his future during his pre-Aston Villa press conference. <\/p>\n

Arne Slot says that he\u2019s only focused on getting Liverpool back to winning ways<\/p>\n

Slot has been a revelation since arriving at Anfield<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Last season, he managed to do the impossible and win the Premier League title during his first season in charge of the club. <\/p>\n

And now, ahead of the Reds\u2019 upcoming clash against Aston Villa, Slot has shared his thoughts on his future. <\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the last question I was expecting [whether\u00a0he\u2019s\u00a0thinking about a new contract],\u201d he said in his press conference<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy focus is completely on getting Liverpool back to winning ways.<\/p>\n

\u201cContract talks, if they are there, we do not speak about this here. First, we must start to win again.\u201d<\/p>\n

Arne Slot must get Liverpool back on track before it\u2019s too late<\/p>\n

Although Slot\u2019s job isn\u2019t in any sort of danger at the moment, if they endure another month like October in November, there will be some serious pressure upon his shoulders. <\/p>\n

Jamie Redknapp has already suggested that Slot is under pressure<\/a>, but, after his performance last season, it\u2019s hard to see why Liverpool would be thinking of cutting ties with him. <\/p>\n

Indeed, things haven\u2019t been quite right over the last few weeks, and a lot more should be coming from Liverpool<\/a>, but blips always happen in football, and hopefully, this is just one of them. <\/p>\n

However, if the Anfield outfit don\u2019t end up winning a decent chunk of their games in the Premier League and Champions League<\/a> in November, that\u2019s when questions will need to be asked.<\/p>\n

Players such as Mohamed Salah and Hugo Ekitike<\/a> will likely be returning to Liverpool\u2019s starting XI and will no doubt be expected to prove their worth on Saturday.<\/p>\n
