Some have been serving effortless glamour for generations, others have\u00a0managed to establish themselves as\u00a0major five-star landmarks in just the last few years. And some, both old and new, are so indulgent that they\u2019ve been named among the finest hotels in the whole world.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Every year\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theworlds50best.com\/stories\/News\/the-worlds-50-best-hotels-2025-the-list.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">World\u2019s 50 Best Hotels<\/a>\u00a0enlists the help of 600 experienced hoteliers, travel journalists and \u2018seasoned luxury travellers\u2019 to compile its ranking of the greatest hotels on the globe. The list features establishments that go well beyond just providing a comfy overnight stay. They have magnificent buildings, huge glistening pools, Michelin-starred restaurants, some of the most opulent spas you\u2019ve ever seen and\u00a0brigades\u00a0of the most polished, professional staff around.<\/p>\n<p>This year, four London\u00a0hotels were included in the list. Three have made the cut before, but there\u2019s one establishment that features for the very first time.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>RECOMMENDED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/london\/hotels\/the-best-five-star-hotels-in-london\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The best five-star luxury hotels in London, reviewed by experts<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The London hotels on the World\u2019s 50 Best Hotels list for 2025<\/strong><br \/>\nClaridge\u2019s<\/p>\n<p>At number 16, this historical Mayfair institution was the highest ranked UK hotel on the list. 50 Best called it the \u2018darling of English of society\u2019 and pointed out that it\u2019s famed for its discretions, having hosted the likes of the late Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Diana as well as cultural legends like Mick Jagger, Whitney Houston and Paul McCartney.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"613ad85b-7854-c47b-8611-fdcfe6adb900\" class=\"photo lazy inline\" loading=\"lazy\" data-component=\"lazy-embed\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/1761922153_170_image.webp.webp\" alt=\"Claridge\u2019s rooftop at night\" data-caption=\"\" data-credit=\"Photograph: 50 Best  \" data-width-class=\"\" data-image-id=\"106337772\"\/>&#13;<br \/>\nPhotograph: 50 Best&#13;<\/p>\n<p>Time Out\u2019s editor Joe Mackertich agrees that Claridge\u2019s is a \u2018truly special place\u2019. In his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/london\/hotels\/claridges\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">five-star review<\/a> he wrote: \u2018Inarguably one of Europe\u2019s finest hotels, Claridge\u2019s has a top-to-bottom vibe that exudes Art Deco glamour, historical significance and smoky old-world naughtiness.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The 269 rooms are as comfy and as elegant as you\u2019d imagine&#8230; Meanwhile, both principal eateries, the Claridge\u2019s Restaurant and the Foyer, manage to justify their price tags with high-quality cooking and exceptional service.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The Connaught<\/p>\n<p>The Connaught is another long-term favourite of the London elite, and it landed in 29th place on the 50 Best list. It\u2019s been providing luxury five-star service since 1897, with waiters on hand for everything from late-night snacks to shoe shining.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>50 Best said that the Connaught\u2019s\u00a0\u2018lodgings tap into traditional and elegant English design motifs, with dark wood and reds offering a time capsule into old world glamour\u2019 and added that its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/london\/bars-and-pubs\/the-connaught-bar\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">decadent bar<\/a> \u2018has become a destination in its own right for its now-legendary martini\u2019.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"ead63c60-6f50-06aa-e07c-e6b35a348d46\" class=\"photo lazy inline\" loading=\"lazy\" data-component=\"lazy-embed\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/1761922156_67_image.webp.webp\" alt=\"Bedroom at The Connaught hotel\" data-caption=\"\" data-credit=\"Photograph: 50 Best  \" data-width-class=\"\" data-image-id=\"106337780\"\/>&#13;<br \/>\nPhotograph: 50 Best&#13;<\/p>\n<p>Raffles London at the OWO\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In at number 31 was the enormous Raffles London at the OWO. After an eight-year \u00a31.4bn renovation, the hotel opened in the\u00a0storied\u00a0building of Winston Churchill\u2019s Old War Office in 2023.\u00a0 The landmark is now\u00a0home to nine restaurants and three bars, with the old\u00a0high security vaults transformed into a speakeasy and multi-level spa\u00a0with a 65-foot swimming pool.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"437d549b-d26a-aac9-6129-69e13df0edf2\" class=\"photo lazy inline\" loading=\"lazy\" data-component=\"lazy-embed\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/1761922158_859_image.webp.webp\" alt=\"Raffles at the OWO\" data-caption=\"\" data-credit=\"Photograph: 50 Best  \" data-width-class=\"\" data-image-id=\"106337794\"\/>&#13;<br \/>\nPhotograph: 50 Best&#13;<\/p>\n<p>50 Best said: \u2018Furnishings are suitably historic and grand for their surrounds, and Raffles&#8217; signature endearing hospitality completes the package.\u2019\u00a0Raffles\u2019\u00a0hotel in Singapore, which has been around since 1899 earned\u00a0fifth place\u00a0on the list.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Emory\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The levels of luxury at The Emory should hardly come as a surprise, since its from the Maybourne Hotel Group, the same people behind\u00a0Claridge\u2019s and the Connaught. At number 32,\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0a new entry\u00a0to 50 Best\u2019s list. It opened in Belgravia just last year as London\u2019s first\u00a0hotel\u00a0to be made up completely of suites and studios.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"7a9d0b4a-43ef-3899-c837-428b955ffbc0\" class=\"photo lazy inline\" loading=\"lazy\" data-component=\"lazy-embed\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/1761922159_302_image.webp.webp\" alt=\"Suite at The Emory \" data-caption=\"\" data-credit=\"Photograph: 50 Best  \" data-width-class=\"\" data-image-id=\"106337809\"\/>&#13;<br \/>\nPhotograph: 50 Best&#13;<\/p>\n<p>The Emory\u2019s\u00a061 suites range between 600 to 3,000 square feet, all with\u00a0floor to ceiling windows overlooking Hyde Park. Guests can make the most of\u00a0its rooftop bar, private cigar lounge, the four-floor members club with a spa and its ABC Kitchen\u00a0from celebrated chef Jean-George Vongerichten.
