A woman has been taken to hospital after being struck by a bus<\/a> in Edinburgh city centre on Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n

Emergency services were called to Queensferry Street<\/a> around 11.45am, with the road closed to traffic and several bus diversions put in place.<\/p>\n

Images from the scene show a police cordon as officers carried out investigations. One female pedestrian was taken to hospital<\/a> for treatment, and the road has since reopened.<\/p>\n

Two ambulances, a police van and two unmarked police cars were spotted in attendance, reports EdinburghLive.<\/a><\/p>\n

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.45am on Friday, 31 October, 2025, we received a report of a crash involving a pedestrian and a bus at Queensferry Street, Edinburgh.<\/p>\n

“A woman was taken to hospital for treatment. The road was closed for a short period of time but has since reopened.”<\/p>\n

Edinburgh Travel News alerted locals: “Queensferry Street is CLOSED both ways between Melville Street and Shandwick Place following a road traffic incident.”<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Lothian Buses added: “Due to a road closure buses are unable to serve Queensferry Street and are instead diverted via Randolph Crescent, Great Stuart Street, Ainslie Place, St. Colme Street, Queen Street and Frederick Street in both directions until further notice.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"One female pedestrian was taken to hospital for treatment.Police at Queensferry Street.
