Tim Krul believes Alexander Isak\u2019s below-par start to his Liverpool career is \u2018karma\u2019 for the way he forced his way out of Newcastle United. The Sweden international essentially went on strike to ensure the Magpies would follow through on alleged promises to let him leave St. James\u2019 Park.<\/p>\n

The striker trained on his own for the majority of the summer and failed to feature for Newcastle throughout pre-season. As a result, he was left playing catch-up after belatedly completing a British record \u00a3125m switch to Liverpool<\/a> on transfer deadline day<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Isak<\/a> is yet to live up to his hefty price tag though following his disjointed summer, and has returned just one goal and one assist from his first eight appearances for the Reds. Yet to score in the Premier League<\/a>, he is set to miss Liverpool\u2019s clash with Aston Villa on Saturday because of a groin injury,<\/a> having been forced off at half-time in the Reds\u2019 Champions League<\/a> win over Eintracht Frankfurt earlier this month.<\/p>\n

Former Newcastle goalkeeper Krul insists there were no winners in the Isak transfer saga, though he is glad to see his former club move on without the forward – with his replacement, Nick Woltemade taking no time to settle at St. James\u2019 Park. And having seen Marc Guehi<\/a> enjoy a strong season for Crystal Palace to date after not forcing through his own move to Liverpool, Krul pointed to \u2018karma\u2019 when offering his take on Isak\u2019s struggles.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere were no winners in that situation,\u201d he said on talkSPORT, as quoted by Newcastle World<\/a>. \u201cIt’s a shame it took that long to sort.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think Eddie Howe<\/a> wanted his squad to be complete a lot earlier. And it has, especially you could see the start of Newcastle the first few games, they didn’t score.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd you could see there was a transition moment there. But \u00a3125million for a player is a good deal.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo everybody should be, you know what, we’ll move on. We’ve got a great bit of money, we’ll sign some top, top players to replace him.<\/p>\n

Sky has slashed the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports<\/a> bundle for the 2025\/26 season, saving members \u00a3336 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.<\/p>\n

Sky will show at least 215 live Premier League games this season, an increase of up to 100 more.<\/p>\n
