Leeds remain on the hunt for a new striker given their woes in front of goal this season in the Premier League.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In a bid to improve their survival in the English top-flight, the Peacocks were eager to bring in quality forwards in the summer.<\/p>\n

Sources told Football Insider<\/strong> over the summer that Leeds wanted to sign Jean-Philippe Mateta<\/a>, yet Crystal Palace<\/a> were unwilling to part with their pivotal frontman.<\/p>\n

Similarly, Leeds were interested in Aleksandar Mitrovic<\/a>, but a deal never materialised as they were left with below-par options up top for the start of the 2025-26 campaign.<\/p>\n

As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider\u2019s Inside Track podcast<\/a>, the Whites will likely monitor the USA international but not make an official bid in January.<\/p>\n

Last season, Haji Wright produced a career-best campaign, netting 18 times in 49 appearances which has deservedly caught the attention of Premier League sides.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the\u00a0Inside Track podcast<\/strong>, I explained: \u201cIt wouldn\u2019t surprise me if he\u2019s on their list. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s had a very good season for Coventry<\/a>, scored goals last season as well for the Sky Blues, nine goals in 13 games this season [as of 30 October]. So, I\u2019m sure there\u2019s other clubs taking note of that. <\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think it\u2019d be a priority for Leeds in all honesty. I think they\u2019re looking for a more wide attacking player, maybe a creative attacking midfielder as well. <\/p>\n

\u201cSo not necessarily a striker like Haji Wright and I don\u2019t think Coventry will be entertaining any offers for Haji Wright in the new year.\u201d<\/p>\n

Leeds prioritising midfield signing with Issou Sissokho on their radar<\/p>\n

As mentioned, the Whites are likely to be in the market in January for a midfielder rather than a striker and Daniel Farke<\/a> has his eyes on a potential signing.<\/p>\n

Sources told Football Insider<\/strong> that Leeds are monitoring Maccabi Tel Aviv\u2019s Issouf Sissokho<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 23-year-old joined the Israeli outfit back in August 2024 and has become one of their main players as they compete once again in the Europa League.<\/p>\n
