More than 100 firefighters battled to put out a fire that saw a flat conversion in Notting Hill<\/a> go up in flames. The detached house was engulfed just before 3am this morning (November 1), prompting a large emergency response at Oxford Gardens.<\/p>\n The blaze ripped through much of the building, leaving parts of the first and second floors, roof and mezzanine in ruin. It was put out at around 6.10am, and an investigation into the cause is now underway.<\/p>\n London Fire Brigade<\/a> confirmed no one was injured during the three-hour ordeal. Station Commander Duncan Rees, who was at the scene, said: “Crews worked hard to bring the fire under control in the early hours of this morning.<\/p>\n “One of the Brigade\u2019s 32-metre turntable ladders was used as a water tower to tackle the flames from above. We asked the public to avoid the area where possible as we worked to bring the incident safely under control.”<\/p>\n Photos taken by the Brigade show large clouds of grey smoke escaping from the property. Firefighters continue to work on Oxford Gardens to ensure any remaining hot spots are fully dampened.<\/p>\n Crews from Wembley, Acton, Hammersmith<\/a>, Kensington and Paddington scrambled in 15 engines after the first 999 call at 2.52am.
