Notting Hill\u2019s The Pelican<\/a><\/strong> has been named London\u2019s best pub by the Good Food Guide.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Relaunched as a gastropub in 2022 by the The Public House Group (which also runs foodie pubs The Hero<\/a> in Maida Vale, The Fat Badger in Notting Hill and The Bull in Charlbury, Oxfordshire), the pub came in at seventh place in a list of the 100 best pubs in the UK, making it the top ranking London pub in the list.<\/p>\n

This being the Good Food Guide, regular boozers have been overlooked in favour of gastropubs with slick menus and spruced up interiors. You will categorically not find any sticky carpets on this list.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Pelican, which is on All Saints Road, offers a high-end chop house menu with dishes such as the St John<\/a>-inspired bone marrow and parsley, as well as beef and Guinness pie. Bar snacks include mince on toast and welsh rarebit. It\u2019s all very swish inside, with cream coloured walls, exposed brick and country-core wooden finishes worthy of the Cotswolds.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Other London gastropubs to make the grade include Farringdon\u2019s The Eagle (at number 11), Camberwell\u2019s newly-opened The Kerfield Arms (14), Kentish Town\u2019s The Parakeet<\/a> (22), Soho\u2019s The Devonshire (28), Barnes\u2019 The Waterman\u2019s Arms<\/a> (30), Stockwell\u2019s The Canton Arms (43), Camberwell\u2019s The Camberwell Arms<\/a> (46), Hammersmith\u2019s The Anglesea Arms in Hammersmith, Waterloo\u2019s the Anchor and Hope, Islington\u2019s The Tamil Crown (69) and Chelsea\u2019s The Surprise (90).\u00a0<\/p>\n
